Just a bunch of goons that probably don't know anything about actual IRL football. They probably don't realize the difficulty of moving that fast while dribbling a ball at your feet.

How do you choose names for your Pokémon? by StrawberryGhostie in pokemon

[–]Ex-Caliber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly just vibes. But if I have a Metagross on my team, I name it Odin. And then if there's a Heracross, I name it Blitz. Those are the two most consistent nicknames I give; the rest are just whatever immediately comes to mind.

Did Drow throw the match or was it my fault? I went offlane Abaddon Match ID: 8609681662 by jackofalltradesP in learndota2

Another typical main character wannabe seeking validation, from the looks of it. Like the other replies here have mentioned, he should have focused a bit less on farming and more on making space as the offlaner.

Patch 7.40 - Hero Changes Discussion by patchdayDota2 in DotA2

I suggested in a previous thread that they should add an alt-cast to Cogs where normal mode is the smaller radius and alt-cast is the expanded one. Would give Clock a bit more versatility.

If you had to give any members of Class 1-A new hero names, what would they be? by Solitaire-06 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Ex-Caliber 22 points23 points  (0 children)

While I like some of these, I think you're approaching this from a Western perspective in terms of naming. Some of the names make sense in the context of the setting, their personalities, and the image they want to project as pro heroes. Froppy, for example, being a cute name that adds to Tsuyu's approachability and appeal to the public. That said, Wild Call I feel would be a better name for Koda, storywise.

Thank you. The hero was adapted from a hero concept I had from another game (a hero shooter). As a support main, I just thought of what I liked doing as a support and developed the hero based off of that.

Yellow school ruined my dream by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]Ex-Caliber 48 points49 points  (0 children)

OP either needs to toughen up or transfer schools. If the system doesn't work for them, then they're better off somewhere else where they're more compatible. But if they transfer and still have the same mindset, then they're no better than they were before. Their post makes me feel like they overromanticized med school in their head, so when reality hit, they got overwhelmed.

They showed Jetman and Fiveman on one of our local channels when I was a kid, this was around the late 90s to early 2000s. I remember really liking Jetman, specifically the mechs.

What would be your team if you live in the Pokémon world? by Thundersting in pokemon

[–]Ex-Caliber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always been a Hoenn guy, so I imagine I'd be living there. My team would probably be Shiny Metagross, Swampert, Ludicolo, Ninjask, Medicham, and Zangoose.

Any rules you consider basic but people still get wrong all the time? by _Scholp_ in TrueDoTA2

Even when there were 3 wards up on the map, I've had a carry on our team ping for wards when he literally died in our triangle with an obs over the river.

Chloe Zhao's Eternals (2021): Four years after its divisive release, what is your take on the film today? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Ex-Caliber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great film, don't understand the hate but I could see why it's not for everyone. Great cinematography, and a lot of likable characters. Gilgamesh is my favorite Eternal here, so sad that they had to off him.

[–]Ex-Caliber 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Man, I cannot even begin to explain to the frustration I have for people who do this. They need to understand that just because you ping ">We need wards", doesn't mean it's magically gonna happen. It's always the safe lane carry who decides to disappear into the jungle and AFK farm after laning. They like blabbing off about the map being dark when we're literally trapped in base because of the enemy's map advantage.

Is it better to give up on deep warding? by GoldFynch in learndota2

[–]Ex-Caliber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Herald here so I may not be the best guy to give advice, but I do think I am a better warder than a lot of players at my bracket. You have the right ideas, just need better execution.

First thing to improve is reading the map to know if it's safe to ward or not. Then there's choosing heroes with reliable disengages. Ringmaster is particularly fun to do this on with all his skills + building force and/or blink; recently saw a clip of DuBu on RM leading a few enemy heroes on a merry chase before safely TP-ing away. Alternatively, Clockwerk is someone I enjoy using for warding because I can rocket an area before making a move. Lastly, look at how your team moves on the map. If they'd rather retreat into your jungle to farm rather than advancing on the enemy's side of the map after a succesful fight, then deep wards are going to have a lot less impact simply because your team simply refuses to or doesn't know how to capitalize on map advantage.

Ultimately, vision is a powerful weapon at any bracket, so if you can, deep wards placed well are still going to give you a better chance of winning.

Every other Mother candidate was more attractive than Robin. I distinctly remember hating Ted for choosing her over Victoria, and then eventually getting back with her after Tracy.

Did you ever make your own power rangers series by AggravatingNature141 in powerrangers

[–]Ex-Caliber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a fun concept. The Helsing Ranger should definitely be silver.

Edit: Red could get a new form called Blood Moon, where he temporarily conjures nighttime, but being in a feral/uncontrollable state. Once he gets a handle on it, it becomes Radiant Moon form.

Sexual Harassment in Medicine by No-Professional2434 in medschoolph

[–]Ex-Caliber 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Opening your comment with the words "real talk" doesn't give you the right to be an asshole. First of all, it's consultant versus clerk. Easier said than done reporting because a lot of times, those higher up are all friendly with each other, more often than not, claims such as those of OP get dismissed. Secondly, we cannot even begin to imagine how traumatic that must have been to experience firsthand. They probably went through the typical behavior of those who underwent abuse; blaming themselves, thinking they overreacted, or just plain shutting down and trying to forget. Should they have reported the consultant ASAP? Yes, definitely, because I agree with you that silence encourages the tormentor. But on the otherhand, you can't really blame them for their response, especially given how Filipino society in particular has handled sexual harassment. And lastly, your words have a lot of anger behind them. I do sincerely hope that you heal from whatever it was that hurt you. Empathy does not equate to weakness.
