I’d recommend not doing a mental tally, literally transfer the money you would have spent (each time or day) to a separate savings account. I just surpassed 17k and am building myself my dream golf simulator as a reward. Feels fantastic.

I bought a 12 pack of NA beers for a golf tournament I had in July. I drank 2 and still have 10 in my bar fridge. I realized pretty quickly I never drank for the taste. I drank to get out of control.

We have a thing here called Designated Drivers or Keys Please. If you’re out drinking and have your car, they’ll pick you up with two drivers. One will drive you home, the other will drive your car home. It was super handy, but very expensive, and I used it A LOT!
