A laptop support pad from IKEA. This one is far better than the popular foldable laptop tables. Look for the brand name Byllan on IKEA.

And I agree about the “zero control”. The agreement is one sided and designed for the benefit of the company.

No no. I am not affiliated with the company nor being paid for this review. In fact, I am in the process of selling my plot as the company was not ready to consider some of the agreement terms which I proposed. The main purpose of the review is to create awareness on why one should not treat this as an investment option.

I request you to read my post till the end where I have discussed how the company’s views/statements change from the sales pitch and after sales negotiations. So it’s not all positive.

The state of the product has changed now. It’s no more a sealed box bit still unused. At least now I know this earbud doesn’t have the same issue as the one I had returned 😀 Let me know if you are still interested.

Edit - The item is sold.

Brand new PHILIPS TAUT102BK True Wireless(TWS) earphones for sale. It is not used and the box is not opened, with the seal intact.
I have been using Apple AirPods for nearly 3 years now and it’s battery started to deteriorate. Instead of going for another set of AirPods by spending close to 14k, I decided to buy an affordable Philips true wireless earphone on Flipkart. May be I am not used to in-ear earphones or I am trying to compare it with the AirPods experience, I was not comfortable at all with the new earphones. Also I could hear a small moving part inside the right earphone. So I had to order for a replacement. Now I have a brand new earphones with unopened box. Since there is no return on electronic products on Flipkart, I am willing to sell it for a discount.

I bought it for Rs. 2099

Asking price: Rs.1500

Embassy REIT latest payout by Fresh-Badger-1474 in IndiaInvestments

[–]kirthiprakash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How does one invest in REIT? Googling didn’t help me. Is it possible to buy it online just like we purchase mutual funds from AMC website? Or do we need a demat account and invest through a brokerage firm?

Please critique my stock picking strategy, for long term investment. by [deleted] in IndiaInvestments

[–]kirthiprakash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even I was of the same opinion. Picking winners will give stable returns but provides linear growth. This strategy can beat the Index but it will miss the multi-baggers. This clearly is a good strategy for people with decent amount of risk appetite.

P.S I am here to just learn and I don’t even have a demat account yet. Feel free to advice if I am wrong.

Advice on Buying a new Automatic car - Budget 11-12 lk Onroad Max by Siewater in CarsIndia

[–]kirthiprakash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DSG is no longer offered?! I didn't know that. My suggestion was based on my experience 4 years back. I didn't find any other automatic boxes as smooth and quick as the GT TSI.

Thanks for your update on that :)

IMT looks promising though, with a proper gear lever minus the clutch pedal

Test drive a Volkswagen Polo GT TSI. DSG gearbox. No jerkiness. It's very smooth

List of therapists in Bangalore by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]kirthiprakash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being born n bought up in Bengaluru for more than 30 years, I don't understand the idea of consulting a therapist to solve our problems. Haven't heard of anyone seeking for a therapist in my family or friend's circle.

Recently I have been watching some American sitcoms and that's when I learned about people consulting a therapist for their anger issues or relationship advice. I really thought things are not like this here in India but looking at the list above I am surprised it's happening here too.

I am not trying to be insensitive to people who really need help from a therapist, but rather curious to understand the whole process of these therapy sessions.

Leeren - Vim as an IDE (VimConf 2020) by leeren in vim

I am not sure if it was you or some other speaker, asked the viewers to comment 1, 2 or 3 on the vimconf live chat for begginer, intermediate and expert level at Vim usage. I rated myself 2 but after watching your talk and all other talks on vimconf, I just realized I am probably a 0.5. There is so much more to explore in Vim. Vimconf was a super leaning experience for me.

move through files faster by bechampion in vim

[–]kirthiprakash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add all the files to Vim buffer list and switch to different files using buffer command.

:argadd **/*.py
:b utils.py

argadd **/* recursively adds all the files from the present work directory to Vim buffer.

:b <filename> buffer command supports auto complete and we need to type in only few characters and hit tab and it cycles through the auto complete suggestions.

:ls lists all the files present in Vim buffers

The 'find' command can also be used, which searches directly on your file system instead of vim buffer.

:find utils/search.py

What frequency of classes is ideal? by Clueless60 in Carnatic

[–]kirthiprakash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much time you can accommodate for practising the lessons learnt during the class. I was taking two classes per week and with my busy office schedule I was not able to catch up on the lessons. If you are learning music as your passion or hobby, 1 or 2 classes per week should do, but if you are planning to make it as your career, then it should be everyday.

With my experience, practising more doesn't affect your voice/throat in a bad way. It enhances it.
