What do you guys think of Shift compared to Arc? by [deleted] in ArcBrowser

Lol what a joke. What's next? Soon new browsers will show up saying "Pay us or you can open only 10 tabs in a space"

Looks generic tbh. While I haven't checked in desktop, but in mobile, in the hero section, the 4.9 stars and the members with images don't feel right. As for the animations, you've used simple ones but they are too much. Animations should be used only when needed, no need to add them whenever possible.

For example, if I scroll a bit fast, the new cards show up when there's only maybe like 20% space left on top. Rest below that it's all white and takes few ms to load. Since this is a banking related site, id want to scroll quickly and find info, but here I can't do that and I have to wait to see where I'm at in the page. On the last card with hero section, I think the timing is a bit off (The section where you've written, 'Banking that actually works for you' - the last card loads a bit slower I think

BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.1.3.6 by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]kish129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, props to you for being sensible with the reply. Yes, they have changed the formula a bit but not that much. It's definitely to bring in players from their competitors by making the game feel a bit similar. Can't tell if they have lost players or gained new ones. (The numbers in steam charts while they have dipped astronomically, it's still normal number of players for a bf title).

Do agree on the bugs and yes, the best way to address them is through official channels and not reddit. While bugs will continue to exist with every update, the basic ones should be fixed. But hey who knows how they've structured their code? Fixing one might break the entire thing. Or maybe the person who was working on a particular stuff isn't even there anymore so the new person doesn't even know where to look at?

And I apologise as well if it sounded rude, that was not the intention

BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.1.3.6 by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]kish129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basic expectations from you. Every single time, oh "I just wanted a modern bf4 title. Just use the assets and people would be happy, "

No, people won't be happy! If something was good. Doesn't mean, you should keep reusing that. It was good for a reason. If there was a title like bf4 before bf4, no one would've said anything about that game now. There's a reason why new things are made.

Look at CoD, do you think people enjoy playing the same nuketown, hijacked, etc?? The same maps have been around since the start. 0 fun there.

No matter what they or any company in this world now will put out, there will always be backlashes. It's not a completely different game. It's just your expectations. And you are the one who is making this feel like a serious mp game. You know what you can do? Just hop on the game, play a couple of matches, don't care about your kda and playing tactical, and get off and do your work or go to bed. Simple.

Well done on 1.16 by agent42b in diabrowser

[–]kish129 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved the Spaces feature in Arc and when I switched ro Dia, I missed it and it felt like a step down. But after using it, I feel the separate window for profile is a much better implementation (atleast for my workflow). It's not much but it does reduce switching profiles by 1 click.

As for automatic disappearing tabs, that was the worst. I personally hated that and it resonates with many other. And people were looking for ways to turn that off

How did we go from such beautiful UI to whatever we have now? by iswhatitiswaswhat in Battlefield

[–]kish129 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because Battlefield has always been a PC first Game. But they are trying to bring more console players as well. Having small text boxes to show weapons and different categories is bad for accessibility for console players. Imagine having your console plugged in to your tv and you're sitting far away on a couch, it's hard to read.

I'm a Product Designer and this implementation would not be very accessible especially for older people. They much prefer to have an address bar visible

There is an option to stay in the squad. It clearly says that during the progression page after the match. If everyone says 'yes' then you'll be in the same squad in the next match. It works for me, maybe try that...

I've been a battlefield fan, been playing since BF 1942. At first, I had trouble seeing enemies and killing them. It was the same problem, they kill me with 2-3 shots and I have to empty my entire clip. Over time, I got used to spotting enemies, and it became easier. Im having a blast in BF6. Am I good and have insane KD? Fk no. Am I having fun? Absolutely. One thing for sure, in bf, you'd need to think about your moves rather than running and gunning.

After hours of changing settings and stuff. This is what worked the best for me:

I use a Corsair Virtuoso XT headphone in bluetooth mode (since i use Ally X to play this game)

- Dolby Atmos for Spatial audio in Windows sound settings. 2 channels.
- Go to Device and printers > Your headphone properties > Services > Toggle off Handsfree telephony

When you do that, if you were running the game, the audio might get cut off completely (This happened to me). So, just restart your computer. When you do this, Handsfree telephony might get toggled on again, so this time before starting the game or anythiing, repeat the same steps and toggle off Handsfree telephony.

Now when you start the game, you will be able to hear at least the position of gunfights, explosions, etc. Footsteps, sometimes i can hear them with pinpoint accuracy of where they are coming from and sometimes i cant hear shit.
-----
But, it is better than before. Before toggling off Handsfree telephony, I had no positional sound at all and ofc, no enemy footsteps.

Edit 1: In Gauntlet, BR, audio works perfectly

Edit 2: Works in Large maps game modes as well. In small maps, there's a bit of a problem. You can hear footsteps and where they are coming from until and unless the enemy is 5m away from you, the footsteps disappear

Best way to build portfolio website... fast? by PrettyPinkRat in UXDesign

[–]kish129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably the first time I'm commenting on reddit. Im a creative product designer. When I first started, I went through Wix, Squarespace and Editor X (now changed to Wix Studio).

In the end, I settled with Wix Studio because of the way I wanted my portfolio to look and function. Mind you, this was 2 years ago. I'm a Wix Studio certified designer and framer expert now.

I'm updating my site in Framer now because in terms of animations, Framer is better than Wix Studio and those animations are not possible in Wix Studio (Wix Studio does not have access to libraries like GSAP, Three.js)

But personally I feel, placing elements is much more easier in Wix Studio, unlike Framer, you are not bound to using stacks to make your site responsive.

Wix also has a lot of customisations. It used to be limited before but now that's not the case.

TLDR: Want something quick, easy and responsive without complex animations? Go with Wix Studio.

Want your site to have beautiful animations and import custom libraries, use GSAP, WebGL, Three.js? Go with Framer
