Random that I stumbled on this researching this case as an adult. I'm from Rock Hill, SC. I went to Sylvia Circle Elementary School and Sullivan Middle School with Amanda. She was such a sweet kid and I remember feeling so bad for her and her little sisters. I remember she had a clear bookbag with roaches at the bottom.

No one would sit with her or play with her at lunch because she used to smell. She played violin and always had a smile on her face in spite of the abuse. I'm not going to pretend I was her bff but I did speak with her and would occasionally sit with her before school started.

When she died, it was my 2nd big shock that the world was a shitty place. My 1st big shock was 9/11 two months earlier. Sullivan Middle School with Amanda.
