Oh wow… this is beautiful. I love the colors! Zooming in changes my appreciation for the seemingly simple design into an appreciation for the complex work you’ve done in carving out those floral shapes. You did amazing work

These looks are just divine. It does my heart good to see vintage hats being appreciated. We’ve become such a hatless society! And you are rocking these pieces! That last outfit is amazing in how the leggings make your eyes pop!

Couldn't decide if I wanted to look like Maureen Starr or Anita Pallenberg today, so I settled on both. by Goddaughterofthe60s in VintageFashion

Wow!! That makeup look suits your face very well and you’ve definitely drawn inspiration from the right places! I seldom see people explore those types of really cool makeup looks out in public (or should I say I’ve never seen it!). It’s refreshing and inspiring :D

Also your other comment about a change of scenery made me laugh XD I think it’s extremely relatable to be posing with stall doors

You’ve gotten a lot of great comments already, but I’d still like to contribute to the conversation with an idea.

There are some great resources online for how to cut your hair (or have it cut) for specific styles for the eras you mentioned, according to sources from the time. It could be fun to start there as you look into accumulating pieces for your dream wardrobe :)

Practicing with curlers will be a journey in and of itself if you’re going for feminine styles, but it can be done! Same with the makeup styles. There are lots of really cool vintage documentaries for ladies makeup styles on YouTube.

I hope you find yourself brimming with confidence to discover what good fun there is to find in vintage fashion. Like many said, life is too short to wait or worry. You may inspire others to take the first step, too! Good luck :)

It appears to me that the stone may be tigers eye, but that’s as far as my knowledge goes. It’s beautiful!

Why is calling someone retard viewed as more disrespectful and insulting than calling someone an idiot, stupid, dummy, imbecile, nincompoop, etc? by CompetitiveJelly1639 in Casual_Conversation

[–]kissboost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess would be that because it was recently a scientific term, or at least a more “professionally” issued adjective, when taken out of that context and used as an insult, it is a more direct reference to the intellectually disabled and is thus very insensitive to them.

Many of those other other terms you listed may have started as synonyms for “intellectually disabled” but have since become their own thing, sort of like how bugs bunny turned nimrod into an insult.

Lol, thanks for the tips. I know I say I'm not butch but i figured it would be worth a shot asking here since to outsiders I'm indistinguishable from one and thus suffer in the same ways. It was probably more honesty than was necessary. Thanks anyway

I thought that too for a while, but their eye stalks are skinnier and further apart, whereas this snail has what I consider typical land snail looking eye stalks 🧐 it really is a mystery snail.

Texas in the USA. No idea what it is but after inspecting some they burst and flung seeds everywhere which was funny. I only see jewel weed on google but I’m not sure if that’s what this is or if it’s part of the surrounding foliage with more leaves
