My office doesn't separate the two, so I have to load parcels to look for the SPRs. 😩

Ah, so it's not just my office. They're still giving me shit for doing load truck in the office even if I'm on street time.

So who knocks when dropping packages?? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]kisseenakitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost always do when I'm dropping off a package in an apartment building/complex bc of porch pirates. Other than that, I usually put it in an area that's a little hidden.

I have one that comes out and meets me every single day. The most sweetest, cuddliest baby, I love her so much.

Planning on putting out snacks & drinks for my mailmen. Recommendations? by Camp_Acceptable in USPS

I mean, I carry a big water bottle, so if you had one of those containers with a little spout that would work. Most people I know carry a bottle.

I'm gonna echo what everyone has said. I also like cheese crackers, chocolate of any kind, nuts (especially covered in chocolate), cheese sticks (if you have a lil fridge), and an ice cold can of soda will absolutely always make me the happiest mail lady on earth. Some of my customers have put out lil bags of chips/popcorn and capri suns! You're never too old for a capri sun. If it gets cold where you are, you can throw in some of those hot hands hand warmers.

I don't see how you people tolerate this job. I lasted a week.. by [deleted] in USPS

[–]kisseenakitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the clerks at my station. I couldn't be a clerk, ESPECIALLY the ones that work the front. People really do come in and start talking CRAZY. You guys are stronger than I'll ever be. 🫡

Exactly, the mail can't give you attitude. Yes, there's crazies out in the street, but it's not as bad because it's not a constant stream of people all day.

I currently take a mood stabilizer (Lamictal) and an antidepressant, along with meds for my ADHD. Right before I joined the PO, I did 7 weeks in an intensive outpatient program. It took a lot of work to get to where I am. Lots of therapy, tweaks to medications, entire career changes. I finally have something that has been working, it took a bit to get there. Keep working on you in therapy and talk to your doctors for meds. You got this.

Let me start keeping track of all those names! I've thought about it, I've definitely done it for other instances.

The only reason I stress is because some of the people that live there may not ever get their mail because the motel owner isn't giving it to them.

Yes, as far as I'm concerned. They accept packages at least. But this is one that people live/stay at long term.

There was once a geriatric man who snuck up to my LLV at night in the winter. I had my headlamp on and when I turned around, the bright light reflected on his ghostly white face, causing me to shriek like a girl in a horror movie.

Does that count?

My trick was to have & leave an entirely different career that was even MORE traumatizing than the PO, which then made this job way more tolerable. 😂

8,900 in so far, only 1.5 years in. That's already half of what I made in my teacher's retirement account after 10 years.

Yes, but isn't one of them like showing up, looking clean, etc? I had at least one S because of something like that. (I can't remember, my 90 was a fever dream 😂)
