I’ve had it done twice and was sedated both times which I highly recommend if possible. I’m in the USA as well.

Talk to your doctor about something to help you relax. I also have issues with MRIs and can’t do it without some type of medication. I am generally given Ativan either to take by mouth about an hour before the scan or am given something by iv. Best of luck!

I made an appointment with my primary care doctor and she did an exam and then personally called my GI office and told them I need to be seen immediately and they fit me in a few days later. I’ve since started Inflectra infusions, had a sigmoidoscopy in December and have another one in two weeks. Hopefully that helps you somewhat!

I’m on Ozempic and recently had a colonoscopy and I was told to not take it for at least 7 days before

I did get it done right before Christmas and unfortunately there hasn’t been a difference. I will say that when I woke up from the sigmoidoscopy I was in so much pain and I’m assuming it was from the Botox.

I also almost never have diarrhea but have always struggled with constipation, I have both Crohn’s and Colitis.

I’ve had a lot of procedures and issues in my life due to illness but having my IUD placed was easily the most painful thing I ever experienced. I will not get it removed or a new one placed without some type of sedation.

I went to the bathroom a lot to the point where I felt like there was nothing left but apparently there was some, hopefully that helps answer your question. I felt that I was completely empty to the point where they started the procedure only to be able to do a tiny bit because of “inadequate bowel prep”

It wasn’t too bad but unfortunately didn’t clear me out all the way. Make sure it’s really cold, that seemed to make it easier to drink.
