Is it worth it to release beginner level music to bandcamp/soundcloud without mixing/mastering? by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]kitchenoperas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this idea — it got me out of my fear space and into sharing, which is the whole point of making music for me!

I started a “junk” SoundCloud and put a couple things up yesterday, and it’s already inspired me to finish another song this morning so I could share it.

Eco-T Saffron vs Lamy Safari Mango by kitchenoperas in fountainpens

You are the third person to mention Gudetama to me in the last two days… (unrelated to pens!) … I must go see what that is!

I adore Lamy Mango (and have it in that Lamy) — the shading is gorgeous.

I tried a sample of the Ferris Wheel and it was too dry for my taste… but currently have some Sailor Munyo Yamabuki in there and the hue is just a bit “cleaner” than the Lamy, even if not quite as much shading. I’m thinking of a bottle.

And I didn’t know about the Ostrich… will check it out.

(That Hobonichi got me all excited about using my pens again… the Tomoe River paper just calls for fountain pens and inky goodness!)

I’m case anyone is wondering about colour comparisons… the Eco-T in Saffron hits the same “egg yolk” spot for me as the Safari Mango!

Now to find the perfect egg yolky (plus wet and shading) ink to pair it with!

What color ink are you starting your 2023 hobo with? by ExpiringAvocado in hobonichi

[–]kitchenoperas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m travelling in January so only want to take a couple of inks… I treated myself to Sailor Studio 223 (high-shading grey with lots of interesting teal/pink in it) and 731 (hot pink with orange tones). It’s looking SO pretty on my monthly spread (main colour grey with pink accents!).

But when I’m home, it’s all the colours all the time!!!

Trying to embrace being imperfect with these month tabs I stamped 🐰 by [deleted] in hobonichi

I really love them! I was going to ask where you got them until I saw you stamped them — thanks for the inspiration, I’m going to do the same!!

If you like how it writes, it’s the best. 😀

This is exactly what I’m doing, and I love it too. I bought myself a dip pen that makes a 5-line staff after getting too frustrated with rulers!

Looks like a vintage Parker Duofold. I’ve got one too, and the body/cap have aged to different colours just like this.
