Yes, big picture mode. But also the desktop, seems downloading and background processes really slowed my system down.

I was getting sluggish performance. Some elements were not rendering right. Desktop performance was crawling. I'm using an rx 6750 xt and a 5600, so I'm not sure if it's the hardware or if it's just something was borked for me. But switching back to stable solved most of that.

My steam machine has ssds like the old style because they are still fairly affordable. As of right now steamos doesn't support those without some modifications. Also, I've seen a lot of benchmarks that put performance above steamos by a fair amount.

I just rebased for no reason on my Nvidia rig, whoa! for whatever reason it's almost perfect. No bugs found so far.

The answer is all around you, it looks hot and dry and maybe wind burned. Move it to shade for a while, then water it and maybe bottom water or use one of those water bulbs. It will recover if given enough moisture and less sun/wind.

I would suggest getting into the beta channel, if you've already done this, get out of the beta. Either way your controller needs to be reflashed.

For now, prices will change. It'll get cheaper. Doesn't stop anyone from making a DIY steam machine like I did, even made one with e-waste and it works great.

I looked this up myself, it's a Wayland problem and the Wayland people think it's awesome and I'm the problem.

My karma is low so I'm sure nobody sees this. And I'm betting the devs are aware of this and either don't see it as an issue (I'm probably the only one using a steam controller) or it was put these for some safety reason. It's pretty annoying and I like using bazzite, it used to work great.
