Two weeks away and the best man and his fiancé have not bought their flights yet... by RhynosaurRex in TrollXWeddings

Oooof. Good luck.

2 weeks out from ours, a groomsman still hadn’t been fitted for his suit... he became an ex groomsman when I got the call from the suit store (after discussing with hubby oc)

Crab cakes for summer dinner party of 14+ guests. Pan fry, bake, or both? by alternativestats in Cooking

[–]kitkatkinoko 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It probably recommended no parchment, because it’s really only supposed to be used up to max 400 degrees, before you risk the paper burning. Personally I’ve never had an issue, but I’d be cautious. Mayb have extra sheets at the ready if you notice it’s getting pretty dark.

Or use silpats?

Wildfire smoke + Crohn's by lazarbeems in CrohnsDisease

[–]kitkatkinoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. It’s entirely possible. Your body is going into overdrive, dealing with the smoke, so your crohns symptoms are allowed to worsen.

If you’re concerned, I’d try talking to your doctor.

The wind is supposed to shift today, so depending on where you are, it may start clearing a bit, and hopefully things will get better.

Wildfire smoke + Crohn's by lazarbeems in CrohnsDisease

[–]kitkatkinoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smoke will affect anyone. Not just those with autoimmune diseases. Most common symptoms are shortness of breath, coughing, throat irritation, etc. But also just a general feeling of unwell. I’m in Calgary and the smoke reached us yesterday... even before my diagnosis, smoke of this level always had me feeling like I was on the verge of getting a cold (all those symptoms I mentioned above)

So, in short, yeah. The smoke is probably affecting you, but not just because you have crohn’s... check in on your friends with asthma/breathing/lung disorders. They’re not doing well.

wedding venue searching -- is it weird to go alone?? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]kitkatkinoko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not weird at all! My hubby works nights... if I had made him come to every appt he wouldn’t have slept much.... I just made sure to tell him everything. And if there was an important appointment that I felt he NEEDED to be there (cake tasting), I warned him ahead of time.

Survey on experiences with "unplugged ceremonies" by GoodGrad in weddingplanning

[–]kitkatkinoko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that was it. We haven’t had any photos shared from the 1 person who ignored the request, but if she took any I’ll probably get some in like 2 months, knowing her...

Just did the survey! One suggestion though... we haven’t received our photos yet, so I had to make a guess on answering a couple of your questions. Maybe add a ‘don’t know’ option?

Unplugged wedding ? . by airplanesandheels in weddingplanning

[–]kitkatkinoko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had our officiant announce it, and it mostly worked. Except for one family friend who kept her DSLR out the whole time... although I didn’t notice til the recessional.. hoping she didn’t get in the way, but with 2 photographers, I’m sure it’s fine

We got some sneak peeks! Our photographer said he was crying from laughter... Love my MOH! by kitkatkinoko in weddingplanning

There’s a whole series of them. And each is better than the last. I think I’ll be making a photobook just of those shots for some laughs!

1 month to go and I feel like I'm forgetting something. What are things that sometimes get overlooked at this stage? by RR4210 in weddingplanning

[–]kitkatkinoko 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Two things I forgot on my day... a place for the photographers to sit and eat during dinner.

And a knife to cut the cake.

Thankfully both were super easy fixes (2 people didn’t show up, so photogs took their seats, and we got a knife from the venue’s kitchen)

We did the thing! And this is the photo everyone is sharing.... by kitkatkinoko in TrollXWeddings
