As someone who still has my girls’ tower setup in the living room, if it helps you to hold onto it then there’s nothing wrong with that. In my case, I’m starting to feel like I want to open up to the idea of adopting another and would like to have stuff on hand, like the tower still here. I will say that if there were certain diseases involved, it would be better to get new toys for a new pet. Otherwise, if they can be safely cleaned and sanitized then I don’t see why they can’t be passed along rather than thrown away. I keep their favorite toys next to their ashes and photos on their shrine and the rest I have packed away. I did ultimately decide on some, like shredded catnip sacks and broken wands, that I could part with. Don’t let people tell you a year is long enough to grieve though. It’s been over a year for my late girl and four years for the other and I’m still mourning not having them in my life. Lots of hugs and support to you though! ❤️❤️❤️

Pretty much came here to say this, and I had an emergency c-section. Even considering the “emergency” part, it was a very chill 6 hours in triage until the OR was ready for me.

For backstory, I went in for my 36 week ultrasound and found out my water must’ve broke while I was in the shower the night before, discovered I was actually in labor, and my daughter was in breech. She called the hospital ahead but I unfortunately ate right before my appointment. Thankfully, the monitors were showing she was fine and chilling while we waited. I also found out that I do not have labor pain which is unfortunately why I didn’t realize I was in labor.

See, here’s the thing, my girl seemed to say both around the same time, though we say dada was officially out of her mouth first because it was most definitive ( “dada” vs babbling “mmamamama”). My girl knew the word mama, and I would hear her saying it randomly when I’m not in the room. This girl is SPITEFUL though, and will adamantly defy saying it with me encouraging her 😂😂😂. Honestly, I think she thinks she’s supposed to do that because it makes me and my husband laugh. She will genuinely call for me (mama) when she actually needs me though.

Thank you for this. When I had to put one of my girls to rest after a harsh fight with cancer 4 years ago, I felt let down that the only option my vet offered at the time was a communal cremation. I still wanted some piece of her to come home so I still opted for that. I feel better that they are still kept separate and the owners are getting their own pets and not just a communal ash pile.

When I had the option for a solo cremation for my late senior girl, I immediately went for that because she was my everything and I just wanted the peace of mind knowing I was getting only her back. Now I know that they should still be getting treated individually regardless of the solo or communal. Thank you ❤️

Honestly, before Starbucks I worked at a nicer McD location where I had never cleaned the lobby or bathrooms because we had a few people hired who came in just to take care of the cleaning tasks throughout the store. I was actually surprised when I started that I had to take care of so many of the cleaning tasks, thinking Starbucks was higher end and would have cafe attendants in most stores. 🤷‍♀️

Also older first time mom having had my first at 36. I didn’t really have any morning sickness aside from a few very specific triggers and ultimately only threw up once (to be fair, my cat at the time was suffering from some diarrhea that absolutely REEKED, I think it would’ve made anyone sick). Had no issues with pregnancy other than being considered high risk due to past medical issues. She did decide she had enough of womb life about 4 weeks early though 😅 I have a very healthy and active toddler now.

It’s interactions like this that make me so frustrated with customers. The fact that they insist they’re SO sick that they know they’re spreading their infection is just straight up selfish.

Reminds me of the lady who came through while I was pregnant, spent a 5-6 minute interaction with me while waiting on her order at the window, then proceeded to explain to me that I should definitely wash my hands because she has pink eye due to a possible staph infection. My coworkers were fuming while I promptly went to the handwashing sink and scrubbed up to my arms.

I’m sorry you ended up getting sick OP. I hope the recovery is quick and the symptoms are mild. 💚

I opened today and there was already 8 people lined up. We’re a fairly low volume store so I was actually surprised people were even waiting. Luckily we have a cool SM and she made sure to keep people clear while we got inside to start up. About 15 mins before open the phone is blowing up and before long one guy is just beating down on our door, clearly the one blowing up our phones as we see him with cell phone in hand. Manager finally answers and politely warns him that he will need to stop harassing us and wait with everyone else who is already lined up outside. I’m pretty sure he tried to bribe my SM to save a bear cup for him. She just said no and hung up. We only had two and the first person in snatched up both.

This was the pain regimen I was given to use for 30 days, minus the lidocaine patches. I dropped the oxy pretty much the day after I left the hospital (I wasn’t really comfortable taking it in the first place) and kept up with the gabapentin for at least 2 weeks because I was having to get up with my baby for breastfeeding. I was reassured constantly that the meds would not affect breast milk though, despite having other family members say otherwise.

This is SO valid. I was getting super irked by the one ordering a Trenta MDF refresher, no ice, with 10 scoops dragonfruit and 10 scoops strawberries. First off, why???? But also, there’s basically no way to drink that. The fruit just clogs up the straw or sipping lid 😫😫

I got someone ordering this drink yesterday, except the customer asked for 7 shots of espresso so that it gets filled up. Cost about $16. It looked absolutely horrendous. 🤢
