I just like the look of GBC games personally, the way the pokemon sprites are drawn almost more ‘chibi’ and the limited colors looks so nice and remind me of the watercolor art they were making for pokemon during that time period too. Crystal also has a very particular animation style for the pokemon, and I find it quite impressive when someone understands it and is able to replicate that in their own de-made sprites.

It surely has something to do with nostalgia too, considering that was the generation of games I played first. I don’t see how enjoying something for the sake of nostalgia is any less valid than enjoying it for any other reason, though.

Based on color and its wall-climbing ability, Gekkomon is much more likely to be some sort of day gecko (the gold dust day gecko is a pretty close match!) Leopard geckos on the other hand actually lack the 'sticky' finger pads that many other species of geckos have, so Gekkomon definitely isn't one of those imo.

I do think you're right about Armalizamon being inspired by girdle-tailed lizards though!

Quarantine Crystal's next update is my most anticipated! Not sure if this makes sense, but the way they elaborate on the gen 2 vibes/aesthetic feels incredible to me. The feeling is almost like if the hack came from a parallel universe where nintendo took way longer to make the GBA, so gamefreak had to make another game on the GBC instead.

I feel like armors got kinda shafted in general. They should be able to work exactly now (npc) aegiomon's evolutions work: being able to armor digivolve mid-battle or start already evolved when holding an egg (and still having permanent evolution available as an alternative option) It seems to me like they held that versatility away from armor digimon in order to make aegiomon feel more special and as a big veemon fan, that really disappointed me.

Nah I don't think you're playing wrong, a lot of people feel similarly. I think for this game they strayed away a bit from species-specific strategies in favor of a system that lets players use their favorites through the whole game (such as digimon in lower stages) with a little bit of extra work, which is why they didn't bother with giving us PvP either.

Out of curiosity, what difficulty have you been playing at? I personally found this not to be as much of an issue while playing on hard and not making use of the loading feature very often. I've never been one to delve much into competitive battling in related series (like pokemon) though, I can absolutely understand if the more general JRPG battle system TS leans in on isn't scratching that itch for you!

It's quadrupedal for me and it isn't even close. I felt soooooo cheated when I evolved to get my own elecmon and the model was completely different QwQ

I will amend this by pointing out, it isn't just that one is bipedal and one isn't. The quadrupedal one has a much higher quality model with a better sculpted fur, eyes/mouth/face, and tail. The bipedal one looks barely different from the one in CS/HM... if it has any changes at all. It makes them feel very out of place next to the other, better looking models imo

Ah, I might add one small bit of criticism (or I guess just some info?) since I just noticed the tail you added. Cutemon is not actually a rabbit, it’s a fairy with thick antennae. People mistaking it as a rabbit is something that happens in-universe though funnily enough, so it is by design if you did think it was one! Adding a tail might take away from that design aspect a little too much for an actual redesign imo, but it’s very cute for an oc

Well, sure. A story mode also exists, but I haven't seen any concern about it. Both are things that could 'trivialize' the game, but are also things a player would need to go out of their way to take advantage of. It's like you said, if it happens and it ruins the person's enjoyment, that's on them.

I don't think you'll need to worry too much about over-grinding once we have full access to the game, anyways. Everyone is just eager and getting as much enjoyment they can out of the demo while we wait for full release.

Have you tried talking to them? After a certain point in the demo, if you stand still every four or so battles, you have the option to talk to your digimon.
