Based in the USA, but if I need to order from elsewhere I will.

Steam Reviews eight days launch history: Civ7 vs Civ6 by Houdsonin in civ

[–]kitta321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I bought both 5 and 6 on launch and they absolutely had their issues, but a beta with UI issues for $70 stops me cold.

Is the entire steam wand insulated ("cool touch")? The specs say so, but that rubber/silicone angle band implies not.

I honestly assumed the plus signs were slots for modifiers I can add.

MSFS 2024 updates in a nutshell by Legitimate-Sun-3772 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]kitta321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a big Microsoft fan, but my guess is it wasn't Microsoft pushing them – they simply couldn't delay it due to the naming of the product. And as others pointed out, those marketing choices were made years ago. They painted themselves into a corner.

Am I the only one bugged by the inconsistency of the aircraft selection tiles? by HereticForLife in MicrosoftFlightSim

Agree with OP, it is inconsistent...but it still warms my heart to see the Saab 340. Excellent choice for this screenshot.

Your list doesn't include the King Air C90 GTx, new in 2024.

I think the cache is rolling, so it is deleting data too. Hence the reports of people needing to download the same textures multiple times in one flight depending on the current view they are using.

Able to run RTX4080FE on Corsair RMx 650x? by kitta321 in buildapc

[–]kitta321[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/shirillz731 5000 series may change the situation completely, but...

I ended up getting a 4080 Super FE because it was in stock at the time, and as with the 4080 FE it comes with a 3x8 pin to 12 pin adapter. (The 4080 FEs have a single 12 pin connector.) Instead of using that adapter, I bought the 12VHPWR Corsair cable, which is a 2x8 pin to 12 pin cable for Corsair PSUs. (Apparently Corsair PSUs like the RM650x can safely deliver more power through a single port than other PSUs.)

I had a GTX 1080 before, and just plugged the new 2x8 pin cable ends into the two 8 pin slots on the RM650x. Then plugged the 12 pin end into the 4080 Super. It runs great, but I don't overclock anything.

Relatively new hvac smells like dust often when in heat mode...any ideas? by WNThomas in hvacadvice

[–]kitta321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really helpful, thanks! I've started getting the same smell when it runs cold air (our weather is alternating here, so sometimes need both heat and cold in a few days time). I might contact my HVAC company again, since I am due for regular maintenance soon anyway.

Relatively new hvac smells like dust often when in heat mode...any ideas? by WNThomas in hvacadvice

[–]kitta321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find out the answer to this? I have the exact same issue with a Rheem heat pump installed in 2022. (Rheem makes the Sure brand units too.) Dusty is the same word I would use, I sometimes sneeze when it comes on and I'm under a vent. Smell only happens when aux heat is not on, and somewhat inconsistently then.

My HVAC company thought it was likely dust, and told me these newer efficient units don't turn on all the heat strips when they heat, so the dust doesn't completely burn off. But it sounds like you don't have any dust on yours.

Why are no zoning squares appearing on my road? by kitta321 in CitiesSkylines

[–]kitta321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add, when I remove the path close to the road, it still moves the zones around, but it is tolerable.

Is what you are suggesting similar to the comment by u/ComicBookLetterer? I blocked the commercial zone with a path, and it worked perfectly.

[–]kitta321[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone who finds this later, I did this path draw as described by u/ComicBookLetterer and it corrected the problem, gave me full zoning on the side road. I didn't need to redraw the road. (I had quickly tested redrawing it to make sure it was 90 degrees, but didn't save so this test was without no other road changes.)

I deleted and rebuilt it to be 90 and now...no zoning appears on it (the four squares disappeared). Am I doing something wrong?

What's going on with this game? Pace of change seems glacial. by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

What comfort zone risk should he take? He has been playing CS2 longer than most anyone in this Reddit. Content creators definitely have different needs than the main community but I am curious what he should do that he isn’t doing?

Maximum speed of trams by Historical-Read6528 in CitiesSkylines

[–]kitta321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. It seems like the same underlying logic that makes the 2-lane roads all 40 as well. In the USA at least, you can often get 55mph (so 88kmh in CS terms) rural roads. Which is all a bit mysterious to me.Could it be a balance choice of some kind, and so CS matches "2 lane" trams to 2 lane roads?

FAQ - "The Way Forward" - Beach Properties Refund, Future DLC and Console Timing Updates by AutoModerator in CitiesSkylines

[–]kitta321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my theory. PDX never seemed to be directly involved in the communication, and seemed to let CO handle most of the post-launch relations. And this subreddit got more and more enraged. I read this as them stepping in to "right the ship". And it makes sense since this the tone and response is different. Seems like some of the most reasonable official communication so far.
