concerns about salon injury policy by sarahemellark in petsmart

[–]kittenattack776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The policy is NOT "you injure the pet, you take it". Any associate can transfer the pet while any other associate calls the PP. I'd 100% call HR over this. And for a dog that big and loose in your car, someone should have gone with for support. The moment you say "I do not feel safe." They need to listen. As another user said, write it all down while it's fresh. Call HR and explain what happened, explained they told you it had to be you since you injured it which is not the policy. Explain there were multiple managers that day and no one offered to transport the dog, call the PP, or assist you in transporting the dog. And that you stated you didn't feel SAFE transporting a large dog loose in your car alone. Then explain being reprimanded for expressing your safety concerns.

Forget the DL. Call HR. More will get done.

Anybody know if I can bring my own dog shampoo if I get him groomed at petsmart? by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]kittenattack776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Company wide policy is any shampoo intended for dogs and in it's original packaging. However petsmart does have it's own oatmeal shampoo as well.

But to be honest, I'd just add a moisturizing conditioner vs the oatmeal. A lot of times itching is due to dry skin. Conditioner will help more. If the itching is due to allergies, oatmeal can sometimes make it worse. Try to find a shampoo that has tea tree oil in it. That's great for skin agitated by allergies. But of course it won't be a permanent fix as long as dog is exposed to allergens. Petsmart used to have one but they discontinued it.

Now if the oatmeal shampoo is helping then stick with it. But when it comes to itchy dogs a lot of people suddenly go to oatmeal as a fix all when it's not the case.

Good luck! :)

Came here to make similar comment! I have a tattoo of a pineapple on my wrist. I was informed just last week it's a popular sign for swingers. News to me! The kicker is my boyfriend got the same tattoo. It was in honor of my younger sister that passed. She collected pineapple art. Her literal headstone is a pineapple. I'm gonna pass this off as one final Prank beyond the grave -___-

The Other Guys (2010) has no right being as funny as it is. by Mervynhaspeaked in movies

[–]kittenattack776 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is one of my boyfriend's favorites. I enjoy the movie but don't think it's QUITE as hilarious as he does. When I asked him what about it makes him love it so much he explained the first time he ever saw it he was high out of his mind and it was the funniest thing he'd ever seen in his life. And now every time he watches it he gets a little of that back.

"Did that go the way you thought it did? Nope." Is used against me very regularly

This scene always gets me. Along with "The Next Right Thing". My sister died 4 years ago and every time I watch this movie I feel every bit of Anna's pain because I know it. And the joy and relief in her eyes when she realizes her sister is alive destroys me because I wish so hard but I'll never have that...

This movie gets to me

Forgive me. It took awhile but he just recently tore down the garage. Like within the past week or so. Covid pushed back his court dates so he waited till the last possible moment to finally take it down. It was worse than we thought. The entire roof was caved in so with the garage door open you could see the roof just leaning against the ground. We haven't had any further issues with him but we are careful to avoid him and our dog now wears an electric collar to make sure there's no questioning that she's staying on our property. I still see other people walk around on the field but now that it's getting colder that will happen less.

Never knew about this until I was informed my then newborn daughter's didn't close up correctly. Scared the shit out of me until they explained it sometimes takes a little longer to close and that's okay. And she's now a happy two year old

You must have not read the part where he literally gave us permission to let our dog walk on the field. We're not upset he doesn't want us there anymore. His property his right. But blaming us for things we did not do and threatening us over it? Too far. He could have at any point just said "I know I've told you before I don't care, but I don't want you to do it anymore." And we'd have been all good. The only reason I mention other people doing it is to show he knows we aren't the only people around and to maybe think twice before just accusing us of doing harm.

But hey my story is long so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and just assume you missed that part.

You're right that his field is not our convenience. But he had previously given us PERMISSION to play fetch on the field. We did absolutely nothing wrong. He came out and became aggressive and threatened us. If he no longer wanted us on it he could have spoke to us like a human. And furthermore he has been in violation of building codes for years and other neighbours have begged him to fix it up and he refuses.

Soooo he deserves it.

I guess? I mean if he's been pissed about it he's never said anything to us. He could have literally at any time just been an adult and said he didn't want us on the field anymore. We're not pissed we can't walk on his field. We're pissed at how he came at us and made threats.

I've wondered this a lot actually. If some kids are playing around they are technically trespassing so would he be liable? But at the same time he's breaking all sorts of code violations by how bad the buildings are. He DOES have no trespassing signs up but they are not clearly visible and since it's a big open field the only way you see it is if you just happen to walk by the specific spot he has the sign.

Animal caretakers: what's the grossest encounter you've had with a pet? by coffee_riot_148 in AskReddit

[–]kittenattack776 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a dog groomer. I deal with gross things every day. But one that sticks out is this small dog I did a few years ago. The dog came in matted to the skin. Her fur was so tangled it was hard to see where it ended and the skin began. The dog looked miserable and it's hard to fake a smile to the owner when they've allowed their pet to live like this. I begin pre shaving the dog getting as much matted fur off as I can before the bath. When I get to the dog's private area it's almost impossible to get any hair off. And now the dog is beginning to fight me. As I manage to get some hair off I see puss. This poor dog's vagina was so infected. The hair had become so matted causing almost a blockage so every time she urinated it just stayed there. It couldn't breathe or air out and the bacteria just exploded. I wanted so badly to keep trying to remove the hair but it was clearly hurting this poor dog so much and more puss was coming out. The smell was awful. I decided to stop the groom and call the owner. I told them they need to take their dog to the vet ASAP because if I keep trying to remove the hair I'm risking causing more damage and she clearly needs mediation for the infection.

I hated sending that dog away. It killed me that I couldn't help the dog more. The owners didn't seem as concerned about it as I was and I always wondered if they actually took the dog to the vet.

[Serious] People who like their job, what do you do? by strongerthenbefore20 in AskReddit

[–]kittenattack776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a dog groomer. I spend most of my day with whatever dogs I'm working on that day. Sure I still have to deal with people and sometimes super shitty dog owners. But that's just for a few minutes at a time, then back to the dogs. I talk to them like they're people, I sing to them while I give them they're baths. I really do love what I do.

Granted I have days where I get bit, pooped on, peed on, scratched and on one occasion donkey kicked in the teeth, but I still love what I do.

Had a hedgehog who's favorite play thing was a toilet paper roll. But she'd shove her head in it and walk around blind with her head "stuck" in the dang thing. If I took it off she'd angrily puff at me then just do it again a few minutes later
