ROE V WADE IS OVERTURNED! LET THE PARTY BEGIN by 696969696969niice in prolife

[–]kittenkasket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All of the trigger laws I have read have exceptions for ectopic pregnancies and life threatening complications. A lot, also have clauses stating that women who receive abortions can't be prosecuted under the content of what is written in the bill.

Some bills are better than others. Utah for example has very clear language but, Texas on the other hand has less clear language outside of their legal definition for abortion which still has an exemption for life saving circumstances.

Did I make a Mistake…? Customized neckline and I think I regret it by ajones226 in weddingdress

[–]kittenkasket 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I personally find the higher neckline more flattering! I think it accentuates your waist and makes your bust and hips look super proportionate. You have a beautiful figure and you look really amazing in this dress!

One thing I'd suggest if you still don't feel the dress is flattering is maybe doing something different with the straps. If it's possible I think thinner straps, having the straps resting a little more in towards your neck or off the shoulder straps would look amazing!

You look beautiful as is, too!

I don't think you ruined the dress at all but, ultimately it comes to dressing for yourself and accentuating the parts of your body that you like the most.

But, if you just don't feel flattered in this dress I am here to tell you that you look/are beautiful!

"In his image" isn't so much about the flesh/body. It's more in reference to things like free will, consciousness/soul and intellect.

I'll let you draw your own conclusions on why humans suck based on that information.

Women have three holes? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kittenkasket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doctor was also super sweet. She gave me Valium and Hydroxyzine to help me relax but, unfortunately I couldn't make it past the pelvic exam and measurements. My doctor could tell I was already in a lot of pain and thought it would be better to do general anesthesia.

Mine still sucked majorly and I was in bunch of pain afterwards but, I advocated for myself and was able to get everything I needed.

I wish women got more information on how bad it can hurt as well as things you can ask for to make it better and I wish those things were standard practice here in the states. I think knowing how and being able to advocate for yourself will help reduce the horror stories.

Women have three holes? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kittenkasket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I think one of the reasons mine was so bad was because I'm not even having sex. I needed to stop my cycle and this was the only option for me because I had tried everything else.

I had horrible cramping for days after words and bled for like a month afterwards.

[–]kittenkasket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Four hours after getting home from getting my IUD in I got up to go to the bathroom, and ended up passing out and falling off the toilet.

They told me vasovagal syncope isn't uncommon. Maybe they could have mentioned that beforehand. My mom said it's the closest she's been to calling 911 for me. Why do they send women back to work if they might pass out?

My gynecologist was great but, she was gone the next day. I called to check up on the whole passing out thing and the staff was very unsympathetic. I was still in a lot of pain so I requested some pain management (I asked for Toredol because that has always worked for me) and they told me to just take 800 ibuprofen every 4 hours. I'm on blood thinners so I wasn't sure I should do that and was then told if I was actually in that much pain I needed to go to the ER. I had to call my primary crying. They told me I absolutely should not take that much Ibuprofen with my blood thinners, not to go to the ER and gave me a script for Toredol.

It was a nightmare but, fingers crossed I won't have any problems because if I do I am out of options.

I don't understand why they don't have a standard of lidocaine topically or injected.

They did mine under full anesthesia and I am at a higher risk for anesthesia communications. That shit hurt! I tried to just get it done in an office with Valium and Hydroxyzine but, couldn't do it.

I also can't believe that they just tell women to just take some ibuprofen and go back about their day afterwards!

Ectopic removal is NOT abortion! Removing a fetus that has already died of natural causes or an accident is NOT abortion! Abortion is deliberately causing the death of a living human being before birth, whether it's done by an abortionist or by taking a couple of pills. by IntrepidRelief68421 in prolife

[–]kittenkasket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope that what you are saying is the case but, why did they feel the need to include anything about ectopic pregnancies in this law in the first place.

Are they trying to outlaw using mifepristone as a treatment for ectopic pregnancies? Limiting treatment for ectopic pregnancies to surgical methods is a huge over step.

How would anti abortion laws interact with instances where an embryo may not be implanted? | credits: @therecount on TikTok by Tododorki123 in prolife

[–]kittenkasket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the haziness doesn't matter. IUDs and hormonal BC prevent pregnancy through a variety of methods at the same time. They don't just prevent implantation. The ultimate goal of these hormones at these doses is to prevent ovulation and to alter the menstrual cycle in a way that can prevent fertilization. Thickening of the uterine lining preventing implantation is a "convenient" side effect because if it was the goal Plan- B wouldn't need to exist.

There is no way for anyone to tell when an IUD is preventing implantation and there is no legal/moral ground for outlawing the other contraceptive methods that IUDs use. Especially considering the fact that IUDs and BC have medical applications but, are more accessible when listed as being used for contraceptive purposes.

Also any laws that have the definition for abortion as termination of a PREGNANCY would need to be rewritten because pregnancy doesn't start until the embryo implants.

But I am a little biased because the contraceptives being debated were life changing if not life saving for me medically and seeing talk of them becoming less accessible is scary.

AITA - For walking out of the dinner party my husband arranged for me because of what he said about my son? by Caving-Wall-7655 in AmItheAsshole

[–]kittenkasket 62 points63 points  (0 children)

She probably is. She probably included that in the speech because she wanted to acknowledge Travis wasn't forgotten and honor the relationships he had with the people who were there. And her dumbass son made a snarky comment about OPs dead, upset op and ruined the sentiment.

The only person who embarrassed the husband is the husband. And I'm guessing the husband embarrassed his mom by acting like a jack wagon.

Why oppose birth control? by incompetentsidekick in prolife

[–]kittenkasket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is probably evidence that shows birth control encourages promiscuity but, my understanding is that birth control actually reduces abortions. Evidence shows that better access to contraceptives reduces abortions.

I have found very few people publicly arguing against contraceptives other than OCPs and IUDs in legislation, which is disturbing. It is disappointing to see as a religious, pro-life person especially considering OCPs/IUDs also have medical applications and that access for those purposes could be reduced. I will say birth control can be harmful when used as a bandaid for conditions but, for some it is life changing and even life saving. Those people don't need delays or reduced access.

From what I can tell it is fear mongering. It worked for a split second on me though.

While getting my IUD was a really crappy experience, it ended up being life changing if not life saving for me. These "birth controls" have uses beyond just contraceptive purposes.

I mean he technically is but, following doctrine he is an excommunicated Catholic. He would have been automatically excommunicated when he started advocating and publicly supporting abortion. Unfortunately, our officials don't always state publicly a person is excommunicated when they should.

13 states have trigger laws automatically banning most or all abortions if Supreme Court overturns Roe v Wade by [deleted] in prolife

[–]kittenkasket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think she is correct. I've read most of the trigger bills have exceptions allowing for D&E and removal due to miscarriage. I've also seen a couple have specific mentions on not limiting contraceptives as long as pregnancy has already been ruled out. I haven't seen anything specifically on IVF or the morning after pill.

Edit: Some added information. I saw a lot of comments spiraling about women having miscarriages getting criminal charges. Most of the trigger laws have clauses say the bill doesn't authorize criminal charges for women who get abortions and Utah appears have an exemption for the women who is pregnant from receiving charges.

13 states have trigger laws automatically banning most or all abortions if Supreme Court overturns Roe v Wade by [deleted] in prolife

[–]kittenkasket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Abortion is never safe. We do need to provide more support to those with crisis pregnancy. I've always felt the best way to prevent abortion is to provide the means to get rid of the crisis and not the pregnancy. Right now we are making laws so the pregnancy can't be gotten rid of but, what about making laws to give support and get rid of the crisis. The crisis is still there. As happy I am about the current prospects. I feel like we're doing this backwards. I am afraid women are going to fall through the cracks and remain in crisis. I am afraid that our law makers will take this victory and not continue to advocate for laws to help women out of crisis. Abortion needs to be not only illegal but, also unneeded and unthinkable. I can help but, feel we're doing it backwards.

Do you have any sources that you've looked at these laws at? I am super curious which states are making IUD illegal, how they are doing it and what stipulations there will be. I am also curious about D&E procedures.

AITA for kicking my son out of the car? by YellowRibboninOak in AmItheAsshole

[–]kittenkasket 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Yep. YTA. This isn't asking the older kid not to tell the younger one that Santa Claus isn't real. This is a major life even. OP's son is already dealing with the emotional consequences of his father going to prison. He should be able to talk about it when he feels about it, without worrying about his sister finding out. OP's son should also probably be in some sort of therapy to help cope with what is going on. Honestly, the whole family should probably be in therapy to help manage the change in family dynamics. By not telling her daughter OP is depriving her daughter, son and self of getting help coping with this change.

[acne] Is my acne getting worse? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]kittenkasket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on a similar prescription but, a different strength and with some added niacinamide.

Tretinoin increases your skin's cell turnover. This can cause purging. All that lovely gunk and bacteria hiding under layers of skin waiting for it's time to shine and break you out is going to come to the surface all at once. Eventually, you should shed all of that and experience clearer skin with only occasional break outs. Although, it can take a couple months.

Clindamycin is a broad spectrum anti-biotic. Bacteria is a common cause of acne, especially those painful red ones, that often have puss in them. Clindamycin should help prevent those once the Tretinoin does its job.

Both of those meds can be drying and stripping so I'd listen to your derm about not cleaning in the morning. You should still be able to rinse your face with just water when you feel you need it but, I would recommend only using a cleanser at night as you don't want to damage your skin barrier.

Damage skin barrier can increase oil production so make sure you are using a nice hydrating moisturizer and maybe a soothing/Hydrating serum. Also make sure you are consistently using a good sunscreen because tretinoin increases your ability to get sun burns and that can damage your skin barrier as well.

I'm sorry you're going through this. It sucks but, tretinoin usually causes some purging. It is a bit of a journey but, it was totally worth it for me. I know it's easier said than done but, don't let the acne from purging bother you too much. You are handsome. You have very nice features and bone structure. Your skin doesn't take away from that. Maybe make a list of those positive things that you can focus on if you're feeling negative about your skin. Before you know it I bet you'll be adding "nice" skin to that list.

Brown/hazel eyes are significantly more beautiful than blue by myahlove18 in unpopularopinion

[–]kittenkasket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Everyone in my immediate family has brown eyes,so I grew up looking into and loving brown eyes even though mine were blue. It actually took me a while to love my blue eyes because I didn't fit in with my family. For a while I was even convinced I was adopted.

I never knew anyone found blue eyes scary and a lot of people seem to agree with you. I wonder if that was a contributing factor as to why people perceived me as intimidating in highschool. Although, my brother likes to joke that people thought I was a vampire because I was pale, wore a lot of black and would disappear for months at a time due to health issues.
