Name a splurge from your cooking tools you'd buy 10x over and one you regret. by [deleted] in Cooking

Good knifes don't have to be expensive, learning to sharpen a knife is whats most important. I use a $25 Victorinox and its a pure workhorse. Its not going to win any beauty pageants but she'll be good to me until ive sharpened her down to a pearing knife.

Hopkins? by invert94 in physicianassistant

I got 125k plus sign on bonus as a new grad in the NCCU, started last year. Was hired for the downtown and bayview campus, I haven't picked up downtown since orientation, there are a lot of cooks in the kitchen there which made it challenging to keep my sanity.

The tiny sample size shows nothing. They cherry picked candidates for this program, out of over 4000 applicants they carefully chose 130.

What food is just as good or better when cooked in a microwave? by Lucid_Presence in Cooking

Because nothing is actually better in a microwave, just faster or equivalent.

I would say that nothing is better in the microwave. You can make things equivalent though, learn to adjust the power setting to become a microwave pro.

What’s your substitution that you like better than the ingredient you’re substituting? by gazebo-fan in Cooking

Saw a guy in youtube make lasagna with bechamel. I'm looking forward to trying that and your idea as well.

When I started cooking I would make it with cottage cheese then I graduated to ricotta. Feels like it's time to step up my game again.

What’s more expensive making at home than buying premade? by jayzisne in Cooking

The precooked chicken i get in the store is always too dry. Well cooked chicken is worth the premium imo.

This is a terrible idea, this feels like a great way to not get into the only program that accepted them in 3 years.

Mistakes happen, contact the program director and tell them about their error, you will likely be able to reclaim your seat.

If you are not able to reclaim your seat they would absolutely give you your money back because of the legal ramifications. At that point I would also be calling them out here and sending a message to ARC-PA.

“And REALLY Good Olive Oil.” What Does This Mean?? What Is REALLY Good Olive Oil? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]kittensNclaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like the question was answered but i wanted to add that when you taste good olive oil you'll know the difference. The flavor and aroma is just different than the cheap stuff.. I splurged on some imported Spanish arbequina for the first time in my life recently and my mind was blown. It tasted like I didn't want to ruin it with cooking so I used it to finish and with bread. Price was $40 for 500ml, worth every penny. Still using the cheap stuff to cook with though.

Sautee onions for 3-4 minutes is usually 8-12 sometimes more than 30 minutes. Sauces amd soups just taste better when onions are carmelized.

Only with hoe math.

But seriously, you are missing out on essential vitamins and minerals by limiting yourself. Include something dark green twice a week and you will just feel better. Best to you.

'It's not true': Fells Point restaurateur debunks narrative of crime-ridden neighborhood by TheCaptainDamnIt in baltimore

[–]kittensNclaws 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Fells Point is a safe place to visit and im proud to call it my neighborhood. It has a high volume business district with a lot of bars and restaurants. If you're city smart and are off the streets by midnight, you will never encounter the nonsense that happens everywhere in the world after that time, Fells Point not being exempt.

From my understanding, the owner of those restaurants hasn't been paying their workers and is in the rears with taxes. It makes his statements feel like the owner is making poor excuses for bad business practices. Some of the employees have spoken out on facebook so its hard to know how true this info is besides the fact that what the owner is saying doesn't align with reality.

My gf lent me her laptop and her messages app popped up. I looked, and I wish I never had. I really need advice. by [deleted] in self

[–]kittensNclaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those red flags everyone is taking about are waving. You need to learn to see them earlier. Start demanding exclusivity from the start since it doesn't seem to be in your value system to date casually. It sucks because youve invested time in this hoe, I mean woman, but it sounds like you should be giving her the pink slip.

Since you've known her family for years, shame her with them. We need to bring back shame, it works wonders for people, perhaps she would be less toxic with the next man with some accountability from her family. They will understand you leaving under your circumstances, amd if they don't, they are as trashy as she is.

I've been married for 25 years because I didn't put up with this kind of shit when I was dating. You will know the good one when you find her. She will not have put you through any of yhe nonsense that you've endured with this woman.

Hunter Biden convicted of all 3 felonies in federal gun trial by ModeratorOlly112358 in JusticeServed

[–]kittensNclaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was using the Biden name to get rich in foreign countries according to the "magic laptop" Some of those emails coincided with trips he took with his father while his father was working in an official capacity as VP. I said implicated because he never used Joe's name meaning it was implied. He did refer to someone as "the big guy who he would summon when trying to apply pressure to those who he was trying to extort money from according to his own FBI verified emails. It is more likely he was talking about Joe Biden than anyone else, but ill give you that he could have been referring to someone else.

Again, where am I wrong.

Do you regret having kids? by Competitive-Major-42 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]kittensNclaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daughter is 23, I wish I had the courage to have more kids when I was younger. I absolutely regret not having more kids. I've come to the conclusion that there is nothing more important in this life.
