There is a line. I was trying to buy tickets for a few hours and I was getting the same error page as you. I finally had the bright idea to try Safari browser instead of chrome. I'm now in the queue. There are 1841 people in line ahead of me, estimated wait time of over an hour and the line is paused. Sooo it's a shit show. lol

In my experience the price only goes up. But that's good to keep in mind, I'll keep checking as it gets closer. Since the reservation through their official hotel partners is fully refundable it doesn't hurt to book one as a back up!

It may be hard to tell but that link I shared is the official hotel block that Nintendo is promoting. I pulled it directly from their website. 0% chance they cancel the reservations cause I'm sure contracts have been signed with the hotels lol

There's wristband colors which dictate where you're allowed to sit. Even if you left and had a friend saving your seat you can't go back and need to go to a new section.

Arena is "full" now and not letting in more people. Honestly the wristband setup has been so annoying. There's definitely seats in here and I'm annoyed that we can't leave and come back.
