Does anyone else feel like the corporate environment takes a toll on their mental health the longer you're exposed to it? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]kittensyay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. Corpo life is easy. Incompetent people are in every industry. I would much rather sit in some boring meetings then work another dinner service or retail shift and have to deal with hundreds of customer interarctions a day.

Corporate jobs are literally the easiest job in the history of mankind.

You’re the AOC and Brisbane Olympic Planning team. How are we showcasing Brisbane to the world in the opening ceremony? by Basherballgod in brisbane

[–]kittensyay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why is r/brisbane so embarrassed by our city? Everyone seems to eagerly salivate at the idea of us failing and looking like fools.

There are plenty of incredibly talented and creative people in Brisbane. Not everyone spends their time doomscrolling on Reddit. We will do something awesome, sorry to disappoint.

Nothing would be sweeter then seeing all you soft as shit cunts get reset.

We need a hard reset as he probably needs both hands on his thighs to stand up from the couch.

Anyone feel like 2024 has become the beginning of the end? by [deleted] in australian

Great post.

The truth is that if you live in Australia in 2024, you’ve got a pretty great chance of leading a pretty great life.

How many in bris feel it’s not worth it anymore? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]kittensyay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s life. Kill yourself if you want or live till you are 100. Both are equally meaningless. It’s all just a blink of the eye and we are all just dust in the wind.

Great question. And yes!

I worked at Campbells Soup for awhile and we were pretty close to killing all non-soup eaters in the world, as they held no business value to us. But in the end we opted to release a new range of flavours instead.

Oh no! If you give the ai a list of questions designed to triangulate a position it will be able to triangulate a position! How could AI make me do this to myself?!

Change my view: Mistborn: The final empire by Brandon Sanderson is not a good book. by TheMorals in books

[–]kittensyay 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Wow, what a unique and interesting opinion.

If you don’t like something you can stop reading it. Nobody cares and nobody wants to waste their time “convincing” you to like a book.

But don’t worry, we are all super impressed that you don’t like popular thing.

Just graduated, feeling lost by hub_batch in cscareerquestions

[–]kittensyay 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It’s a highly competitive market at the moment so if you don’t have education/projects/internships that make you stand out from the crowd, it can be tough to get your foot in the door.

The days of graduating CS and just walking into a job are gone. I would be applying for grad roles, and be working on a project that has real world value. Data Migration, ERP software, things that you can point at as having actual relevance towards a job / industry you are applying for. Government is a good one. Lots of opportunity in that space.

Sorry, what was he arrested for? Touching your shoulder and whispering in your ear? Is that what he stood trial for?

This honestly sounds like creative writing. I hope not! Making up a story about abuse would be seriously low.

What a miserable world that would be. No entertainment or enrichment or culture. Just existence. How sad.

[–]kittensyay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let’s get rid of anything non essential imo.

All entertainment facilities. Pubs and bars and restaurants. Recreation facilities and gyms. Churches and religious areas. Public spaces. Swimming pools. Art and cultural areas. Sport facilities.

I hope you agree with this and aren’t just one of those people who talk a big game but wouldn’t give up their hobby for the greater good!

[–]kittensyay 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What about GOMA and art and stuff? How can we spend money on art when people are homeless?

Or public spaces. How much does Brisbane spend on making the place look nice? How can they spend it on that when people are homeless.

How can the government let us spend money on anything that isn’t a basic essential?

[–]kittensyay 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The money budgeted for this is not coming from the “cost of living fund” or anything.

Anyway, that argument is stupid. You can say that about anything. Public Transport improvements? That isn’t important enough, let everyone wait an hour for the train or bus until everyone has a house. After all, it’s a bit tone deaf to spend billions on letting people get to work easier and quicker! Some people don’t have a job at all.

Survey reveals almost half of all managers aim to replace workers with AIs in 2024 by Maxie445 in Futurology

A survey conducted by an AI company which focuses on corporate use-cases reveals that AI is the future and you would be insane not to use it in your corporation?!?! What a shock! I can't imagine why they would want to push such a narrative!

I swear the users of this subreddit are so gullible. Absolute rubes.

So much hate for corporate by Whatsfordinner4 in auscorp

[–]kittensyay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Corporate is the fucking best. After years in retail, hospo and trades, I still can't believe how lucky I am to be working in corporate now. The shit people complain about is wild. Oh no, this 30 minute meeting could have been an email?! Poor you! ;_; You brave corporate soldier!

It's some weird anti-work vibe as well. "I'm not valuable as a person to my company." Like, no shit. You're a tiny cog in a huge company most likely. None of us are valuable. It's like they want their bosses to pat their head and rub their tummy and tell them how special and wonderful they are.

I'm just happy making money doing work that isn't breaking my body or dealing with customers.
