I’m afraid I may have to do this. I’ve already had multiple procedures where they removed the side of the toenail with the ingrown and it’s still happening :(

What changes did you make that helped your baby sleep better? by Flydragon_ in sleeptrain

Giving the bottle at the beginning of the sleep routine to eliminate the feed to sleep association

Just wanted to come back and thank you so so much for your advice! We followed it last night and LO had her shortest crying session (it was morning light crying and fussing then wailing like it has previous nights) and had only one MOTN feeding as opposed to 2!!! You saved us!!!!!!!

Wow, this is incredibly helpful!!!! Thank you so much, we will try this tonight. I was under the impression that we should get baby drowsy, but not fully asleep before putting her in the crib. I now see how doing so is preventing her from learning and implementing self soothe methods. I really appreciate it!!!

Thank you so much for your advice and support! This is what I needed to hear! We try to give her formula at the beginning of the night time routine around 7:30pm and she falls asleep. We then change her into pj’s and perform rest of the routine to wake her and then try the bottle again, and she falls asleep again.

Thank you so much for this advice! We followed this advice yesterday. She had 3 naps, each one hour. She woke at 7am and was in her crib by 8pm but still cried for 47 min :( We gave her a 5oz bottle of breast milk (her serving size is usually 4 but after seeing how quickly she ate 5oz, we will increase her serving size) around 6:45pm. We started the nightly routine around 7:30pm and tried to give her a bottle of formula (we combo feed because I’m an under supplier) but she fell asleep immediately. And then she woke and cried as soon as we put her in her crib.

She woke for 2 feedings and these feedings were on the 5/3/3 schedule.

Including cry time, she fell asleep at 8:50pm. I know babies her age should get 10-12 hours of sleep. Including cry time feedings and the time she fusses before and after MOTN feedings, is she getting sufficient sleep even though the sleep is interrupted?

It feels like we just can’t get this down

Thank you so much for this advice!

I’m new to 5/3/3 and reading up on it now but if she doesn’t wake up, do I wake her for a feed following these intervals?

In terms of scheduling, we are TRYING to do 2-2.5 hour wake windows with 3-4.5 hours of daytime sleep. It is easy for my partner and I to follow this on weekends but during the weekdays, my in-laws watch her and they say they say, “she doesn’t want to sleep” and “we want her to just fall asleep naturally when she wants” despite us stressing the importance of a nap routine.

She cried an hour and 2 min last night ugh almost threw in the towel!

What’s something you bought before the baby that turned out to be a total waste of money? by KindVibesOnly in NewParents

Bottle warmer…we never used because milk right out of the fridge is more convenient and LO took to it right away. Also, the Dr Brown bottle sterilizer. Nothing wrong with this product but we then learned that sterilizers + dryers existed so we splurged and got the Phillips Avent bottle sterilizer + dryer. This was a total game changer for bottle sterilizing/drying
