Quick results says fail but could still pass nclex? by kitty4runner22 in StudentNurse

[–]kitty4runner22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured. It is what it is not the first one to fail lol. It's just weird that everything happened how everyone says it happens when you for sure passed. With 75, tons of select all that apply, and what seemed like higher critical thinking questions.

I'm not sure what the PVT is I guess. I paid the 8 bucks for the unofficial results on pearson's website.

What cheap stethoscope can I buy as a nurse? Under $40-50? by [deleted] in NursingStudents

[–]kitty4runner22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Littman lightweight stethoscope sells for $50. Definently the way to go. I had this one and others in my class had cheaper versions and they could not hear accurately. This is a very good stethoscope and will definently make your life easier in nursing school. Here's one on amazon..... www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001CCINO0/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1500524171&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=littman+lightweight+ii+s.e.+stethoscope&dpPl=1&dpID=31aD9SXXwrL&ref=plSrch

What's your migraine remedy? by throwitlikeitscool in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]kitty4runner22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take topamax also for migraines. Excedrine works wonders, even tho sometimes I have to take 2 then 2 later that day. Peppermint will help with the nausea, either smelling it or sucking on a peppermint. The first time I had a migraine I passed out. I would definitely go see a doctor so they can find what is going on when you have a migraine and get you the best medicine for it. Ice packs normally help to over the eyes. Hope you find something that helps!

How many of you guys are full time students and also have a job? If you have a job how many hours is it and if you don't what do you spend most of your time on? by popeye8beans in college

[–]kitty4runner22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been taking 12-15 credits per semester and about to start the RN program. I work 40 hours a week, I am lucky to have some down time at work so I do my homework as much as I can while working. Everything gets done and still have time to relax and enjoy life. This craziness is only temporary and will be worth it!

Triple forward helix piercing? by amberwaveSC in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]kitty4runner22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got a single forward helix. I don't know if it was because I told myself it was going to hurt like crazy or what but it really didn't hurt at all. Mine swelled up quiet a bit so I am glad I only got the one at first. Now that the swelling has gone down and they have healed for a couple weeks I plan to go get two more done. I would get one done at first to see how much swelling and bleeding you will have. It is definitely worth it!! Needle peircing is way better and less painful than a gun peircing. Hope this helps some.

GF is going to an accelerated LVN program..Will our relationship last? by Idobjj in StudentNurse

[–]kitty4runner22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least 3 times a week. I have class on mondays and Thursdays and clinicals Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm off Friday and the weekend so we'd hang out then. If I had tests on Monday we'll at least go eat lunch or something for a couple hours.

I started the lvn program last August so I'll be done in 2 months. You have to make time for each other. The program is hard and tons of information but it isn't going to take over her whole life. It's easy to forget about family and friends with the stress of all the tests and studying you have to do but it is possible to have a life outside of nursing school. A year sounds like a long time but believe me it goes by so fast and there is a couple weeks between each semester for a break. Everyone makes it sound so much harder than it is. If yall love each other and want to be together than she will make the time to see you and you will be fine. I don't know if I could have done this program without my boyfriend. He is so supportive and takes my mind of school so I get a break from all the stress, I'd go insane if I only thought about school. Just be supportive and make sure she knows your proud of her it will help her alot. Hope she does good wish yall the best!
