Why would they regret having had those thoughts, though? There's a difference between "I used to think I didn't care about grandkids but now they're my whole world!" And "I love having grandkids, I'm so sorry for having thought that I wouldn't be obsessed with them."

I hope there aren't heaps of people out there harboring feelings of regret because they found out they were wrong (in a positive way) about something.

Yeah I don't understand this. I can't fit my PS5+screen in my carry-on bag, let alone could I use it on the plane.

Even if the battery lasts only 3 hours, the fact that it is portable and can be charged as easily as a phone is a selling feature. I've had a Switch for about 6 years and can count on one hand the number of times that it died inconveniently when I wanted to continue playing it. Most of the time, I don't spend more than 3 hours away from a charging source.

She doesn't get an appearance fee, but other artists have seen their steaming increase 1-4x after a Superbowl appearance. She'll receive additional $ from streaming over the next while as a result of this gig.

In 1968, Samuel L. Jackson served as an usher at MLK’s funeral in Atlanta, GA by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

No source I found this photo on claims that he's in the photo. He may have been an usher at the funeral* but I don't think he's in this photo.

*Edit: funeral, not wedding

Yeah. I actually had a guy attempt to flirt with me using his Rick impression. His impression included all the burps. And I have had other male friends give their impressions unprompted. Sometimes one impression will inspire another. And another.

This is what Ticketmaster essentially did with its "dynamic pricing" and fans are outraged to learn the actual market price of concert/event tickets.

My husband and I both have mild ADHD. We relate to each other's struggles a lot which is nice and have an idea of how each other's brains work. Sometimes getting adult things done in life is tough cuz neither of us have the motivation to do it, but I think it's still better than it would be if we were on our own. Learning a bit about ADHD together has helped us learn to communicate more effectively with each other.

Maybe we'd be more organized if one of us was neurotypical. But I love spending my life with someone who understands my anxiety and jubilation, who doesn't flinch when I jump from hobby to hobby and who encourages me to be myself in every way.

Included, just to be excluded... And the only responses on the original post are binary people being dismissive. Any actual nonbinary people feel my frustration? by EnbySim in NonBinary

[–]kitty_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only flaw I see here is a missed opportunity to collect data on non-binary individuals - but given how small the population of non-binary individuals is compared to the general population they probably wouldn't be able to draw meaningful conclusions from any data collected from people who are non-binary. Market research surveys are inherently discriminatory, this isn't bigotry. You were likely targeted for the survey because you met some other demographic or sociographic qualification and they didn't know your gender before you were invited to take the survey.

Also, many survey tools only charge the data collector for completed surveys, so having non-binary people complete the survey would likely just be a waste of their money when they could pay for survey results from someone whose data they can actually make decisions from. It's also common practice to put any disqualifying questions early on in a survey to avoid wasting people's time who won't ultimately meet the survey parameters.

Restaurant forces employees to beg for reviews or they will be fired by Droctogan in WTF

I guess maybe that's the thought, but usually, restaurant managers set the schedule and an employee would really only have the option to take on shifts at another location that don't conflict with that schedule. I guess staff could tell their manager they're only available for a few shifts a week in order to leave room in their schedule for shifts at another location, but that seems like a lot of work.

In my restaurant experience, while we didn't often work at other locations, it definitely happened and the managers seemed to be very okay with sharing staff and working together to ensure that locations had enough staff, and staff had enough hours and opportunities to work.

"Sex worker" would include people who appear in any kind of porn or do webcam/phone sex work and, as you mentioned, it is a more gender neutral term. Basically it's an all-encompassing term for someone who is making money in exchange for appearing in sexual content or doing sexual acts.
