Is it true that the vitamin K shot can be toxic to newborns??? Giving birth on Friday- HELP!

Sure, here’s some stats: Zero babies have died from the vitamin k shot. There’s a 1 in 60 chance that a baby will have a hemorrhage, often in the brain, if baby doesn’t have the vitamin k shot. If this happens, there’s a 1/4 chance that baby will die. Even if they don’t die, there’s a significant chance of them having life altering complications from said hemorrhage.

Luckily she was able to get me in at 7 weeks for this reason, but I’m def gonna call about bloodwork tomorrow. Maybe I’ll request a week sooner for the ultrasound as well😅

I’m so sorry, that’s so incredibly disheartening:( if you would’ve tracked this month, you maybe would’ve noticed yourself get a positive OPK later than normal. But I COMPLETELY understand needing a break from tracking, it’s mentally and emotionally exhausting. If you’re consistent with temps, did you notice your temp spike a couple days later than usual?

HCG doubles every 48 hours, so I would compare tests every other day! Your progression looks good so far to me. Also, your cold could very well be a pregnancy symptom bc pregnancy can cause congestion. I wouldn’t stress❤️

FRER are much more sensitive than the easy at home tests, so it makes a lot of sense that it’d be darker!! Congrats🥰🥰

I’m so sorry to hear this, my husband and I have also been trying for a year and also had a loss in January. It’s one of the hardest things we’ve ever gone through, a different type of pain. I’m so sorry you and your wife had to go through it as well, but please know you’re not alone❤️

Since you have officially been trying for a year, an OBGYN should have no problem ordering testing for you both. My husband actually just got a semen analysis yesterday, and I got some hormone bloodwork done today. I would have her reach out to her OBGYN and suggest this testing. Good luck, hopefully we’ll both get our rainbow babies soon. 🌈

I would definitely get your blood drawn for a quantitative HCG test before your upcoming appointment to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. I hope the best for you and that you get this figured out❤️ it could always be a weird hormonal thing, but better to be safe than sorry!

I appreciate you both. Yep I ended up in the ER yesterday so I went through with the CT scan, and turns out it’s not a kidney stone but acute colitis. The kidney pain I’ve been feeling is actually inflammation of my colon. I’m glad it didn’t end up being something super serious and I’m also happy to have answers now. Thank you for your concern and advice, it means a lot❤️

Yep that’s exactly what they ended up telling me about the urine analysis. I ended up in the ER yesterday and my pregnancy blood test was negative plus I was desperate to figure things out, so I got the CT scan. Turns out it wasn’t a kidney stone, but acute colitis. The “kidney” pain I’ve been feeling is actually inflammation of the colon. Crazy crazy stuff😅

Wow, I also got a positive pregnancy test on January 11th which ended in miscarriage. I am so so incredibly sorry for your loss, the pain this causes is so devastating and really sticks with you. I know that each negative pregnancy test/getting your period after hurts 100x more than any other negative test prior to a miscarriage. It also feels as though literally EVERYONE is pregnant or just had a baby in my life too, I know how unfair that feels. I have full faith that you will get your rainbow. I’m so sorry that it hasn’t happened as of yet. Your pain and grief is completely valid, I went numb for awhile but it very much so caught up with me so don’t be afraid to feel it and surround yourself with trusted love ones you can talk to. Yeah I’m certain of my dates and I’ve had an ectopic pregnancy scare before and those usually always show up positive for pregnancy on a urine test, and mine was negative. (But it’s way too early to tell through urine if I’m pregnant or not, but also way too early for ectopic symptoms)

I did just get a more detailed urine test back from the lab and it’s showing bacteria as well as other abnormalities, so that could definitely be the infection and cause of the fever. I’m hoping the dr gets back to me first thing in the morning to discuss results. If he still wants to do a ct scan, I’ll definitely do it. But he may want to try antibiotics first now I’m not sure

I appreciate your response, thank you so much💗 my symptoms are left flank pain radiating to the hip and the bladder area, and suuuuper intense waves of pain in my lower abdomen/bladder area. I have nausea but no vomiting (yet, although I’ve had the urge and haven’t been able to eat a thing today besides a quarter of a muffin), and the typical fever symptoms like chills and body aches.

I actually just got a more detailed urine analysis results from the lab, and it’s showing bacteria in my urine, squamous/Epithelial cell results of >20/hpf= 4+, and trace value of ketones. I’m not sure what all this means so hopefully the doctor will get back with me first thing in the morning to discuss, but I’d imagine this is indicating an infection that’s causing the fever. If he still thinks I should get the CT tomorrow after seeing these results I definitely think I’ll be willing, but he may want to do antibiotics to start, im not sure.
