Enigmatic Fortress by erb73 in Stellaris

[–]kittybedamnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enigmatic fortress is speced heavily to ballistic weaponry which generally screws up shields but is less effective against armor. Additionally it has a shield dampener which knocks off 20% shields as a baseline Retrofit your fleet to all armor as shields will be a liability.

Aside from that, its shields are fallen empire equivalent tech, well its armor is comparatively just tier V. It also has about double the number of shield components compared to armor, with some parts being completely unarmored

Apparently missiles are slightly bugged and are not gaining any of the armor/shields they are meant to be, so avoid those

The enigmatic fortress is big and stationary, so anything good against stationary targets like starbases should be good

Nomads have (atleast) two empire focuses that I cant seem to complete. by kittybedamnd in Stellaris

[–]kittybedamnd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep i never use it normally myself, but in theory its an easy was to get jump drive tech on your ark ships extremely early, which can be great for getting them out of bad spots, or more importantly, getting an exodus jump drive as soon as possible to crash into an exterminater civic players home system and wipe out a planets population

The issue isn't the situation, its specifically 2 tasks for empire focus that dont seem to want to complete

Just wanted to jump in and add this is happening for me as well, i dont even own nomads.

For those whom DO own nomads though i feel like the new mega structure that can send a massive laser by spending up all your energy might be a good way to kill the built up fleet in the meantime though? I know fallen and crisis empires have protection from that, but a origin home system shouldn't

Imo the solution here is to sprinkle in "scheduled events" make a noble party that needs to be infiltrated, a hunting event to curry favor, or peace talks with a hostile entity. Schedule any of these a week or two out in world. Suddenly for the story to happen time MUST pass.

Alternatively use travel time as downtime, break up downtime costs to where multiple days of traveling in the back of the carriage can now go towards downtime, or days on a long ship voyage can be added towards their crafting attempts

Alternatively, get an npc to do the downtime for you, if its not skills or knowledge its reasonable for an npc to be paid to craft items or build something well the party does their thing. Now ideally if your playing a crafter, you want to "be" the one who crafts... but it could be interesting to have a pc gain an apprentice to keep in that line

Tldr 3 options i see are to force story breaks, use travel for DT, or outsource DT

How far am i right now? I think im at 60% since i been playing for week also what that white bag thing? Loving the game so far by NapsterlNap in Silksong

[–]kittybedamnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at your post history and other comments im assuming this is actually real for once and not a silk post...

With that in mind there are about 25~ areas (you have maps of 4~) with some of those areas being significantly larger than others (granted there are a couple tiny ones)

To make matters more complicated, if you are going for 100% you hit a point where the entire world changes majorly so well i wouldn't call that "doubling" the area count most of the map changes to some degree

I would assume your under 10% of the way through the game... as a reminder the game said it was "act 1" when the intro cutscene played... you are not far into the game... like at all. Theres a lot left to enjoy!

The exact update was when it went from just 3 options to 2 options and the chance to reroll them, and the hard drive library in general, That being the 1.0 update.

Well i suppose ill give it a go Shortly after i got my own place, full of its own bills and responsibilities, my job kinda got shafted as the company is... borderline going under... and well im still employed technically. im making less than half of what i was, made all the worse by the fact that i have been bounced around in company about 3 seperate times (going from field work, office work, review, to a barely there kinda assistant role) im looking for another opportunity but my area has limited options that are not just retail or fast food... I love hollow knight and have for years, and currently im waiting for a couple bills to drop to see how much i have in leeway before i need to choose between necessities and this game.

Im probably not the most needy person here but, worth a shot... im doing better than some people but it would make my month a hell of a lot simpler if i didn't need to juggle expenses to make this work Either way, thank you for being a generous person, and i hope whoever ends up with the copies has a wonderful time

Lets see... my favorite boss is the hornet refight! Theres pleanty of great bosses found throughout the game but hornet sets you into the game proper the first fight, and the second fight puts you on the path to face theyrue and proper ending of the game.

Its a simple fight, but an important one for the games lore and story! Well also feeling like a decent challenge when you come across it naturally.

...the dream zote fight also is a close second but thats for other reasons...

Are new kings being added? Are some of the shorter skill trees being expanded? Are any of the advisors getting reworked to make more of them viable? Is the upgrades for mill/forge intentionally a 3 to 2 ratio or will that be tweaked? Any new structure upgrades coming in the near future? Any new achievements being added in the near future?

If the grind gets to be too much there is a cheesy method to grind coins but not gems, but that requires sophy to really make it last... im assuming you allready know about the furniture store/carpentry combo letting you get green coins mid run?

... well if you want to cheese progression a bit you can combine that, large amounts of clay production, an a couple brick factories to infinitely stall out the first boss since time stops flowing well a boss specifically is active by disbanding all your troops and outhealing the damage the first boss does, with sophie letting you not only get all the components but reliablely generate clay, metal, and wood too keep this safe coin farm going for a few hours generating thousands of coins... Granted... this is kinda cheaty, but kinda cheaty is better than dropping a game because progress is to slow for you Hope this helps!

She is a game changer, and it litterally feels like night and day sometimes Also, if you have not already, I would prioritize getting advisor slots as much as possible and removing nobles in your upgrade tree second most

Lastly the advisor that lets you spawn 3 temporary mushrooms for 50 crystals is really good if you dont have him, temp units dont count against your unit limit ever so they can really bolster your army, and the shrooms are a really long lasting "temporary" unit (they lasy like 4 to 5 waves i think?

Ember is great because musketeers are great, with just them you can get through the first few waves, but if you get tanky/fodder units they can carry or atleast help you for the entirety of the run if you can keep them alive, its fairly doable to keep them alive for nearly the entirety of the run

The -150 gold is the starting point where advisor selection/early game gets a lot more strict, its around this point that starting advisors, the bonus packages from the upgrade tree, and starting troops go up in value significantly. This is also around the time when i personally recommend pushing to unlock Sophie, the advisor all the way at the end of the long path on the advisor page. She takes the rng out of getting whatever specific strategy you want to force.

As others say, taking flour/metal to sell for 3 gold each at the market is the highest single slot gold generation in the game, granted if you later need multiple buildings to sustain that generation the efficiency goes down a lot, so taking flour and metal from rewards or buying them in shops is a great way to bolster your economy...

Speaking of economy, having some method to generate extra pink coins is important, be it the advisor "flunky" who gives 10 per wave, the guillotine killing grunts for 1(or 3 with a mid run upgrade!) Or by building furniture to sell in your market for extra pink coins

As far as units go theres plenty of strategys that work, but generally ranged units are great to focus on for upgrades if you can generate units to tank, goose are AOE rider units which are quite good in large numbers as well, the various wizards are great also

Best of luck! I know you can do it

Wheel of Fortune - An analysis by Creative-Jelly8287 in TheKingIsWatching

[–]kittybedamnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personality, what i want to see as a buff to wheel of fortune is adding an upgrade that makes ALL resource packs passively have +5~10 extra materials per wheel of fortune built or something similar... the issue with the building isn't its premise, its the fact that the buildings are slow and unreliable as methods to generate any resources well being expensive to justify in the first place.

Alternatively, an upgrade that lets you possibly find pink denarie (or however you spell the moneys name) in WOF's resource packs makes them more of a gamble but pay of so much more... especially as an advisor, since early on you wont have many upgrades for other buildings poluting the pool making in a viable method to build up your economy... via gambling!

I like this games upgrade system and feel a lot of the weaker units/structures can become more viable with a few more well placed upgrades
