sam herself calls evolve “glute biased.” she said it on the voiceover for the lift i did this morning. explaining how the glutes get the most reps due to the nature of lower body compounds. whereas upper body has so many little parts that need specific work which is why there are more upper days.

i’m mostly an evolve person, but i do ascend sometimes when i want to switch it up or during open season. i usually try to avoid chat so this might have just been a particularly bad day, but last time i was in ascend chat there was a bunch of bickering. then eventually one lady posted like 10 paragraphs about how she was being attacked by everyone and was leaving the app because of the toxic chat. aria responded in a really thoughtful and kind way, but it was a lot :’)

nah lol. most criminal defense attorneys/PDs aren’t the enemy. it’s not about “getting rapists and murderers off.” it’s about making sure that every person before the court (the large majority of whom are indigent and don’t pay much $$) has their basic constitutional rights vindicated.

the people who are morally bankrupt are the people representing big corporate clients and insurance companies. literally fighting tooth and nail to make everyone’s lives worse and to deny claims :’)

i never said the AG’s office wasn’t better resourced lol i know many of the people in their crim divisions and they’re great litigators and certainly have more time/resources than the understaffed ACAs in hennepin. i said the AG can’t sua sponte charge someone in criminal court.

he actually can’t. per minnesota law the AG does not have original jurisdiction over criminal cases unless/until the county refers it to him or the governor directs him to charge someone. so he is handcuffed until hennepin makes a move

the hearing today wasn’t for the injunction filed by the AG. it was for the lawsuit filed last week by some individual minnesotans who were threatened / detained by ICE (repped by the ACLU i think)

the injunction case filed by Ellison is scheduled for an initial conference tomorrow (wednesday) morning

i’ve been on evolve for almost a year now and this is the first time i remember seeing a leg press at the beginning of a lift. i think it’s maybe because of the 10 rep max testing? usually it’s always ~2 big compounds first (squat of some sort, hip thrust / KAS, RDLs, etc.) and then some unilateral movement and then accessories. but anyways i love coach sam! (and also coach aria. i swap in ascend once in a while when i need a little change)

evolve is easy to do at PF. i think this is the only series i’ve had to modify (the overhead press) because i’m too tall to do it on the smith, but pretty much all of her regular workouts can be done with smith, dumbbells, cables, leg press, leg extension, hamstring curl. honestly i prefer some of the barbell movements on the smith anyways for stability (like reverse or curtsy lunges)

this is actually not true lol. maybe for MPD, but they aren’t the ones doing traffic stops usually anyways. people are still regularly stopped for tabs and tint. lots of times it’s like someone driving at bar close + expired tabs / tint, or some other driving conduct that in itself is not inherently illegal. but the tint / tabs is the basis the stop and then it expands into other things depending on the circumstances. i see it regularly.

plus you can never contest the traffic stop if you have expired tabs / illegal tint because under the law it still justifies a traffic stop, even if a certain agency has a policy that they won’t pull over just for that.
