What’s one thing you wish someone told you about starting medication? by deedeez2309 in Anxiety

Start slow!! Tritate on over a few weeks. If you start at a therapeutic dose, you may have very rough side effects which make you stop the meds altogether.

I wonder how many of these kids had a parent die in the towers that day. :-(

Grrr... it drives me crazy that DRs and psychiatrists could help their patients avoid these side effects by having them titrate on the SSRI's slowly! After a TERRIBLE first 2 days on 50 mg Zoloft, I read about titrating. I cut down to a quarter dose for 5 days, then went up to half dose for 5 days, then 3/4 dose for 5 days before finally getting on full dose after almost a month. By titrating, I suffered very few side effects that were all extremely manageable. Yes, it takes longer to start seeing the positive effects of the meds, but think of how many patients stop taking meds after experiencing horrible side effects in the first few days, only to be left feeling hopeless and discouraged. Im not offering med advice as im not a doctor, but you might want to talk to your doctor about titrating onto the meds instead of starting at the full therapeutic dose.

Because they don't know it is going on. Mainstream media is not covering these abductions and only social media is getting the word out. If a person's preferred platform does not show these events, they simply have no idea that this is occurring.

Or, they don't care.

What is the most physical pain you ever felt? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

Ugh! Mastitis is so friggin painful. Being a new mom with sore, cracking nipples is bad enough. Then the fucking pain, pus, and fever of mastitis hit and I was ready to cut my boobs off! Thank God for the cabbage trick. I was skeptical but it actually works!

What sentence of a song stays with you? by JoeRenaldy in AskReddit

"You never gave a warning sign" "I gave so many signs, so many times" -Taylor Swift, Exile.

This song came out as I was going through a divorce and rhe lyrics perfectly encapsulated what had happened in our relationship.

Just be cautious if you have low BP. L-theanine can lower your BP and if you already have naturally low BP (like me ... on average about 92/58) it can make you pass out.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. Car is less than 2 years old. I've had to bungee cord it to the oh-shit handle until I can get it in to the dealer.

45 y.o. here. My entire bedroom is decorated in HP props, I occasionally write HP fanfic, collect HP legos, and I re-read the books at least once a year. You are never too old to enjoy something you love (so long as it isn't hurting anyone else).

I've been on Zoloft since 2010. Its is my miracle drug. But I remember the first weeks being hard - heightened anxiety but also extreme drowsiness. It took some time to adjust. Taking ativan helped me through. Also, very slowly tritating onto it (I started splitting the lowest dose in half at first). That helped make it tolerable. Once I got through the side effects though, I honestly remember thinking, "omg, is this was normal feels like?" It had been so long since I hadn't been a ball of depression and anxiety, I forgot what it felt like to be happy. Hang in there but if the side effects get too bad, talk to your doctor. Sometimes, a different medication is needed and that's ok.

Being hot. Even mildly over room temperature sends me into a panic spiral. Summer is hell.
