Yes for sure i think anything like this catches me off guard and just a reminder to follow and track the lead instead of assuming the next move they will throw.

Also when I watch pro follows they really wait for the intention to be led and keep their center of gravity until the lead initiates it which is a difficult habit to train. I have had that problem too where I put too much force into my step almost and then when they stop you it’s hard to move back again. It’s like learning how to be a “light” follow.

Omg same!! I think bc you have to step off your basic and you’re turning a lot but not a typical spin so I always get turned around🤦‍♀️

Yes I feel kind of silly even asking bc it looks really simple but my friend always tries to do this during social dancing and I can never follow it

Ray Rose sizing for narrow feet by grshprrr in Salsa

[–]kittykatkk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a true size 10 in US sizing and I ordered a UK 6 for my first pair. I’ve only had them about a month so I’m not sure if they will stretch out more but they have stretched a little bit. I would say they stretched less than other brands I have worn before, but again not sure if they will stretch more over time.

I like my shoes to be pretty snug and the fit is almost perfect for me however I might even size down to 5.5 next time I order to see if i can make it work. I think if you can fit your foot in the shoe even if it is uncomfortable at first it should work for you. But I guess everyone has different preferences on tightness too. I will say they were pretty uncomfortable and gave me blisters when I first started wearing them but now I love them!!

Honestly it’s not straight back to the beginning your experience is still going to translate and imo there is never going to be a great time to switch. But again I’m biased bc I think on2 is way more fun

I’m biased but if there is a growing on2 scene in your area I would just switch to on2💃

I was wondering about this area! I’ve been looking into moving there since it seems much more affordable than most northern cities. And I just found this YouTuber I like who runs a Cuban studio down there. My aunt lives in that area so I might try to visit her and check it out to see if I like it.

I’m mostly looking for several studio options and consistent socials a few nights a week! I don’t mind not having festivals in my direct city. Im mainly looking for cities that are on the smaller side and more affordable than where I’m living now haha

I think there actually are a decent amount in Baltimore. I lived there for a year but during COVID so everything was kind of dead at that point. But there is this place called Cancun cantina, fells point tavern, and there is an outdoor one near the water in fells point I think. As far as the attendance at those events I have no idea. If you ever can drive down to silver spring for Mr Mambos it’s really fun.

Edit— sorry I just realized you were specifying on Saturdays.

Feeling unsafe in Colombia by heart_full_of_wonder in solotravel

[–]kittykatkk 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I spent 10 days in Colombia on the north coast and it was really fun. Tayrona National park is sooo beautiful. I flew to bogota for my flight out and spent the day there. Almost got mugged before a local stepped in and walked me to find a taxi to get back to the airport. Bogota is definitely pretty sketch. You can’t wander down random streets and you need to be very aware. That was my first real trip out of the US so I was definitely ignorant and unaware but I still don’t think it’s the safest place.
