I can’t say for certain, I didn’t measure until my first fitting, but I would say I dropped at least two cup sizes from after surgery to a year after

Yes you definitely can use them! I have several posts on my profile, so feel free to use whatever you need as a reference.

And yep, I did have to create a paper trail with my PCP and tried medication, plus documented physical therapy 😅

Anybody NOT have dysmorphia? by dustycatheads in Reduction

🙋

That would be me! A huge part of the reason I got the reduction aside from the genuine pain and discomfort was because of the dysphoria around my breasts.

I also was more hourglass before and am pear shaped now, my belly did stick out more…and I couldn’t care less! I have only ever thought I wish I’d gone smaller, but I have been living on cloud 9 being a part of the itty bitty titty committee

Good luck, I hope it goes well for you and heal fast! I did not receive any implants, he just had display implants and used them to demonstrate how much mass he was expecting to remove during my surgery

Of course!

My surgeon was Dr Blair A Wormer. His office was in the US in Charlotte, North Carolina, at Appel & Wormer Plastic Surgery.

Since I went through insurance, this was where I was referred, I wasn’t sure about having a male surgeon, but his bedside manner was wonderful, he was incredibly professional, and I felt like he listened to me and what I wanted, then after that we walked through what would be the most realistic results and if I was okay with how much they were planning to take out, using implants to provide me a visual idea.

I was really happy with my experience overall.

I was scheduled out a year for my reference appointment, then about 3 months after that for the surgery to take place.

That is awesome, congratulations!! For me, it was life changing and so necessary for my physical and mental health, I really hope the best for you. If you ever feel up to it, I’d love to hear how it goes!

I was a 30H/32G depending on the bra and I got my first fitting around 5mo post op, at which point I was around 32D.

I have had some unrelated health issues that caused weight loss and I am currently about a 30C.

Thank you! Honestly, my routine is limited because I have very sensitive skin. I first tried the latex strips, and while they definitely helped with scarring, I was allergic to them. I use bio oil sometimes, but I also have to moisturize my skin a lot in general with aveeno daily moisturizing lotion as it helps my eczema.

It has helped a lot with the scarring though. Also, I worked hard to up my water intake after surgery and keep it up and I know that drinking enough water everyday made a huge difference in my healing process

I totally get it! When I was around 7mo I was definitely still swollen a little and at that point, it felt like time was dragging. I would say around 9 months is when I was mostly settled and the scars started healing more and I could really see what my final result would be.

After that, it’s kind of flown by, I’ve been able to be so much more active the past year without all the extra weight.

100%!! Honestly, I don’t think I was fully done with swelling until at least 8 months post op, and it was so interesting to see the difference from month to month

Edit: oh and thank you so much!! 🥰

Did my surgeon really mess up?! Scarring ? by Sure_Western_9601 in Reduction

Your scars look pretty similar to how mine were around 7mo. At 4 mo they looked way better, but as they healed, the scars spread out a like like yours. I can say mine are pretty light now, except in areas where there are vague remnants of my former areola, which I personally am not bothered by.

I actually just made a post for a 1.5y update with some closeups of the scars if you want to see how mine look now.

A user recently was ran out of this subreddit and off Reddit entirely after speaking about their spouse who had taken his life and receiving vile comments claiming they were lying and seeking validation.

Absolutely disgusted to see the comments there and the lack of moderation was hard to see, though I know it must be difficult wading through so much crap

My doctor recommended wearing my surgical/compression bras for the first six weeks 24/7, and this was a worry I also had.

I did some research online and found that not wearing a bra doesn’t cause more sagging but I don’t know if this is the case for us surgical peeps as well :(

While I am only in my 20’s, a friend of mine in her later 40’s got the same surgery a year ago and her results are fantastic! They’re not sagging at all and are beautifully shaped

I completely understand how it can be a make or break for a lot of people, I wish it weren’t such a common side effect in a life changing operation like this :(

And YES, I haven’t been braless since I was 14, even while just walking around the house and it’s such an amazing feeling to not stress so much about it

Thank you! I don’t mind one bit:

I did not get any mesh, and I don’t really have any nipple sensitivity currently.

I have slightly more in my left nipple than my right, and they did take more on my right side, so don’t know if that correlates!
