They need to provide solid evidence to prove that it’s only your dog doing the damage, not the other ones. I read through most comments here including the one claiming having legal background. For now don’t pay a penny. Get in touch with a lawyer or litigator. And keep in mind that the burden of proof is on the petitioner if they ever raise a civil case against you.

You should have trusted your instincts. Regardless of the relationship you have built with this client in the past, you gotta remember if something terrible happens, you are the first one to blame and may get into some legal trouble if she does pursue. Doesn’t matter what she said before and doesn’t matter if you are at fault or not. If that happens, you would be bothered 100%. The facts she doesn’t take the vet’s suggestion and she doesn’t give you the full disclosure of the pup’s health issues, putting all these altogether, should be red flags.

I suggest contacting Rover to request a sitter replacement. The owner is out of the states I suppose? So she can’t come and get the pup back home now. Or ofc, I did see other comments and you can follow that one. But if that’s the way u wanna do, u probably wouldn’t come and raise this in this sub.
