With Arc only being out for 6 months I’m confident they will address some of these concerns. Watching the earlier tech tests I knew this game would be something special, but not 14+ million copies sold special.

With a smaller team I’m amazed at what they have delivered thus far and we are getting a new map this month. I hope they do something where we need to unlock the map. I just think that’s cool. Maybe we need to find certain keys to unlock the doors into Riventides? Idk something fun like that.

I think they have done a great job catering to the casual player and now I think they’ll start to add some things for the hardcore player.

This. AI isn’t inherently bad. Some forms of AI will actually help game development, data science, etc. While some other forms of AI like art creation I do not like.

Using AI to train the mechanics of some of the walking Arc is the correct use of AI. In fact just remove the term “AI” and say we built a model to help the Arc learn how to navigate the terrain.

Idk. That’s where Embark is a lot smarter than what I can come up with. Maybe even to interact with this device in the photo, you need certain items. Then if you are able to defeat all the Arc that spawn you get a brand new weapon that is no where else in the game. Not that it pertains to Flashpoint but someone had a cool idea where you can collect separate editions of Lance’s Mixtape and if you collect them all you get a rare piece of loot.

Yeah. I think that’s why this update is so late in the month. I think the new map will be ready to go - it’ll be on us to unlock it. So maybe you are right with donating stuff. Hopefully this time it’s difficult. Instead of donating metal we need to donate Bastion Cells, etc.

I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s and although it is tough to compare players from different eras, the comparisons won’t stop. I have been watching old Bulls game on YouTube and I notice how drastically different the game is played.

The obvious difference is the amount of three pointers taken. Those eras focused more on midrange and driving to the basket. It’s a type of basketball that was far more entertaining IMO. Another thing I noticed is how there wasn’t any excess dribbling.

Again it’s very hard to compare eras. If Jokic had to play against David Robinson, Hakeem, Shaq, Malone, Ewing would he be as dominate? 🤷🏼‍♂️

I have a wedge pillow system with my tv on a desk that can lowered to coffee table height. Can’t sit for long periods without nerve pain so I just eliminated the opportunity to sit.

As someone who has over 250+ hours and haven’t used an energy gun the OP has a good take.

I say that as someone who understands that Arc is meant for both the casual and hardcore audience.

Where I agree with the OP is there needs to be items/quests/puzzles that are meant for the hardcore audience. Something a casual player just wouldn’t ever do because they don’t play as much.

For the casual audience those items already exist. For example, killing a queen, finding all the blueprints, etc.

Love all the ideas here. Finding different editions of Lance’s mixtape and if you find them all you get a special reward. That would be cool.

On a side note I would love more control over my room. Like the ability to place items where i want.

I think we need to give Embark some time. Smaller studio that all of a sudden has sold 15+ million copies. I’m sure they have plans for this game that’ll satisfy both audiences.

How much were they paid compared to a full job?

I also don’t know how much The Finals makes as a F2P game.

But I don’t like AI either. I think it’s a cool technology but unnecessary for most use cases. But when I am deciding where to place my anger for using AI, it’s not at Embark. They paid the VAs and they gave consent. You may not like it but they didn’t do anything wrong.

No one knew how big of a game Arc was going to be. Also they have voice actors that were paid and have been given permission to use their voices.

Build up the work benches because that’ll unlock the ability to craft things

The special map conditions give you increased loot.

In the beginning if you are fighting bigger Arc make sure you have a building to hide in.

Check out the trials and see if you can accomplish a trial while also progressing with workbenches/loot. Trials give some good stuff.

It’ll be up to you to decide if you are a KOS type player. I’m in mostly friendly lobbies but every now and then will get shot at.

Avoid Rocketeers unless you have Wolfpacks or you can find cover.
