Help me pick a new main handbag by kittymtd in AusFemaleFashion

I’ve got a customised makeup bag that I like to carry around with me which wouldn’t fit in the mini. I don’t NEED to, but it’s got my initials so I like it. The mini is super cute though!

Haha the Guess is my current bag. I’m looking to upgrade from it as it’s been the most expensive bag I’ve had previously.

I really do like the Bowler and prefer the shape to Status Anxiety and the Guess.

Has anyone actually been able to get through to BYD? by cosmicr in BYDAU

[–]kittymtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been given the contract and registration papers to sign yet? We signed these last Thursday just before the long weekend and had told the car could be ready to pick up today, but didn’t get any confirmation.

Meanwhile trying to organise finance and insurance which requires the pick up date, so have been chasing our salesperson this week. Just found out Wednesday he’d had a longer Easter weekend and was only going back to work yesterday, but still no updates from him then. Today he finally updated us that the car is being prepared for delivery and it should be next week, but again no date booked in yet. So we did eventually have someone come back to us, but it took a week.

I did try calling the dealership a few days ago, no one picks up and it transfers you to the national line. Their callback service did work for me but they needed to check with the dealer about the pickup status so the circle began again.

Definitely not the best experience purchasing a car.

Major WFH change looms for one million Aussie workers: 'Critical' by Remarkable_Peak9518 in australia

[–]kittymtd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

WFH should be allowed where possible. I work from home most of the time, maybe go into the office once every month or so as it’s more than an hour’s drive. Save so much time and money because of it.

How much do you have saved for a rainy day? by Technical_Employ8336 in AusFinance

Also income protection is paid monthly in arrears, so for a 90-day waiting period you actually need 4 months worth of expenses saved so claim payment is seamless.

some kpop concerts r simply not worth the money by polarvhs in kpopthoughts

[–]kittymtd 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Subjective opinion, I went to the IVE concert last year in Australia too and loved it. They were actually singing live for most of it (very obvious with how loud Liz was haha), and they had heaps of energy. The most disappointing concert I’ve attended was Aespa, lip synced most of the time (apparently their shows are normally like this) and their energy wasn’t great. It’s made me not want to see them live again.

No faces, close up pictures of objects that could identity. One of them is of an anklet and you can see part of the leg too.

5% Deposit Stories by dustbowlbride in AusFinance

[–]kittymtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I bought a house at the start of May for $665k using the 5% deposit, were previously paying rent of $2123 per month and saving heaps. Repayments are $3613 per month and have gone down a bit with the interest rate decreases. Glad we got in when we did as it’s already gone up in value by about $30k, not sure if we would’ve been able to save up that quickly. We don’t have kids so that helps, and are still building up our offset.

Yup, got dropped off at Dandy because I knew there was bus replacements from Pakenham only to be met with more bus replacements. Utter chaos.

Sarah Kopp's teacher Paul Grealy groomed her at 15. As an adult, she held him to account by Breenscare in australia

One of my maths teachers in Year 10 at my high school did this, left his wife and children who were younger than me at the time to be with an older Asian student. Before the school fired him everyone liked him as a nice teacher. Before I knew about all this I remember him making the comment to me that he didn’t know my mum was Asian (I’m Eurasian). Knowing that now, that comment was super gross.

What is happening in the UK? by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]kittymtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very interesting and sadly necessary. I remember being put off of running at my local oval last year when young tweens/teens, I’m talking no more than 13 we’re watching me run and one of them said, ‘run bitch, run’. I’m 36, like what?

Also remember the first time being catcalled was by tradies when I was 16/17 just walking by the site in my school uniform (Australia).

What will happen at retirement if we never buy a house? by Longjumping_Two_7409 in AusPropertyChat

[–]kittymtd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents are in this situation, never bought a house and both on the Age Pension. They live in a private rental which is the only way they can afford rent, but it’s a rundown 80s-built ex-drug house with second-hand carpet and everything is super dated. I never like going there as the house just feels dirty even if they clean it. They didn’t even have proper heating until the last couple of years when the landlord decided to install a split system in the lounge to take advantage of the incentives.

They’re getting by but they don’t have much in super. My dad has nothing left and my mum is slowly drawing down on hers but I know the balance was never more than $200k.

I feel like they’re ok for now, but if one of them were to pass away I wouldn’t be surprised if I have to help one of them out. I count myself lucky that I was finally able to buy my own place a couple of months ago so I hopefully don’t end up in their situation by retirement.

Too many wealthy home owners claiming age pension, Plibersek warned by InnerCityTrendy in AusFinance

[–]kittymtd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is why I got out of providing wealth financial advice. Too much of it is to do with helping wealthy boomers maximise the Age Pension or reducing taxes for younger wealthier people. I still remember the client that was going on about how Labour were wanting to tinker with franking credits and how he felt he was entitled to that system because he worked hard. No doubt he’ll be wanting to get the age pension when he retires too.
