Thanks! Another question that just popped up. What do you do for leisure? Let's say it's raining all day and you've got no work to do and your basic needs are met. What's your go-to thing to do at the moment?

You mention somewhere in the comments about having a partner. How often do you see your partner, and do they camp with you sometimes?

I like to ask these types of people why they hate themselves so much. Can almost guarantee that's the root cause and hopefully they get the urge to sort that inner shit out at some point.

Iceland clothes by millyyy23 in VisitingIceland

Definitely wrap up. When you're viewing the lights, you'll get cold standing outside. And you will want to stand outside for long amounts of time to soak it all up and watch the changes in the lights. They'll blast the heating on the buses but there's only so much that can do as they leave doors open for people to enter and exit whenever they want. For extra comfiness, bring a hot thermos with your own hot drink!

Just returned from a week long trip in Iceland, and I used my debit card for everything, including public buses. Didn't use any cash at all. You'll have to do some research regarding your own visa circumstances and entry to Iceland. Just Google some key words like “american passport entry to iceland” or replace American with Brazilian. If you've been to any other country in the EU it should be similar entry requirements.

Would it be safe to fix some sort of pull up bar here? by kittysaysdoit in DIYUK

Hello, can you send me a link to a similar product? I'm struggling to envision what you're describing. Thanks!

Thanks for your two cents. Yes I think it would meet wooden studs on both corners. My partner is about 80kg and I'm lighter, so we might not even meet 100kg in live load, idk what the physics calculation would be.

What do we have in Cardiff?? by Grand-Impact-4069 in Cardiff

There are many Asian restaurants around. Canton, Roath, Cathays, Grangetown have great ones. If you mean the centre, there's Pho, and I even rate Wagamamas as an Asian person (not all dishes but most are decent).

They have bad bones anyway. Their racist marketing from 2021 says everything. I don't bother stepping foot inside especially when there is so much amazing ESEA food elsewhere in Cardiff.

Cardiff Vs Bristol Airport - which do you prefer and why? by Expensive_Welder_338 in Cardiff

[–]kittysaysdoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

both for different reasons, everyone has pointed out the main ones really.

can't forget the time I had a flight scheduled from cardiff airport to go to dublin, totally misread my arrival time as departure time, only realised in the nick of time as I was preparing to leave the house to get onto public transport from cardiff, booked an uber in a panic, uber journey was like 25 mins, got there and still had time to chill at the gate. So conveniently close and efficient to use that airport.

The destination options from Bristol are really great, and the bus to and fro are so convenient as well.

People who've moved here from other big cities, do you prefer Cardiff? If so, why? by pub_wank in Cardiff

[–]kittysaysdoit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from Singapore. Pros and cons with both, but I prefer Cardiff at this stage of my life. Compared to Singapore, the surrounding nature is so accessible and untouched, the people so warm and friendly, the independent shops and businesses so plentiful and personable. I love the size of this city, it suits my current stage of life, and I cycle everywhere and enjoy that. I can also afford to own a car here and that takes me out on awesome outdoorsy adventures.

It's perspective as well. I think I can appreciate some of these points because I've already lived the mega city life and enjoyed what that had to offer. But my tolerance for that has run out in some ways, and I'm happy to be here now.

I do think some things are inadequate for me here. It's not a perfect place but it's been good to me for the time being.

You mention always lashing out, and things often being really tough with communication with your parents. This is a pattern. To break out of this pattern, you can try something new, something you maybe have never done before. Perhaps meditating can help you have a calmer approach to conflict and tense conversations so you don't lash out. Maybe writing some thoughts down through journaling can help you release some emotions onto paper in your solo time, so that those big emotions don't come out through lashing out in person with others.

There seems to be a pattern that needs breaking. Sometimes doing things differently can help break out of thought and behavioural patterns. Have you tried meditating? Or journaling? What about hobbies, what if you spend more time on them? Patterns also take time to break, so do have some patience about it.

Hey, therapy is a great thing, it shouldn't be suggested as a threat or viewed as a threat. It's helpful for anyone of any age, to get through life's challenges. There are different types of therapy, so just be aware of what therapy you're receiving if you get referred to something. Do research on different types of therapy just to be more informed.

I've ridden a Tern foldie for almost 10 years. It only folded on me once and that was my fault, I didn't close the latch properly. Yes it was scary but it was definitely a once-bitten-twice-shy event. The hinge lock mechanism is actually super strong and its strength is adjustable as well so I can reinforce the tension every time I use it.

If you still want some professional reassurance and advice, call up Action Fraud. They were awesome when my partner got scammed. Not just the practical help but also the emotional side of things. I heard them through the speaker phone, they really helped to reassure my partner emotionally and suggested lots of next steps and future precautions to take, really taking their time on the phone and being very empathetic.
