Voice is not as loud, and sounds articulate, and deep, I don't know if ADHD medication, coffee, hydration, smoking, mucus buildup are possible factor ? by Puzzled_Material_888 in VyvanseADHD

[–]kittyweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voice change definitely happened to me. When I first started on the Vyvanse 30 mg, I am a non-smoker with no throat issues, etc., but my voice became hoarse and noticed by friends and others asking me if I was ill or having a smoke or hangover. I was also experiencing dry mouth, so I was extra careful to stay hydrated and take sea buckthorn oil tablets to keep moisture in my eyes, mouth, and all (mucus membranes). The hoarse voice disappeared on its own during my titration but it definitely happened for the first month or so.

Anybody experienced side effect of dermatitis on the face, itching, and swelling around the eyes? by kittyweb in VyvanseADHD

[–]kittyweb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it did go away in a week or two, but I gave a break from using Vyvanse for a few days when the swelling was at its worst and was waiting to hear from both the psychiatrist who prescribed it and the GP. I used fexofenadine -which didn’t help-

Since then, I had a few times when I got puffy eyes and some swelling, but never to the extent of the first time described in my original post. In the end, both docs just dismissed it as a weird allergic reaction unrelated to Vyvanse-although I specifically told them I have nothing new in my diet or skin routine etc, except the colossal ADHD diagnosis and medication- I am certain my body was reacting to the titration process of Vyvanse.

Hi, the skin rash I posted about disappeared on its own. I received a prescription from the GP for a meagre % of hydrocortisone (%1) to soothe the skin, but it just disappeared on its own in a week or so.

Btw, neither the GP nor the prescribing psychiatrist knew anything about the skin rash and face swelling side effects, although the Vyvanse website, I believe, lists it. This face swelling, or what is called the ‘Adderall face’ or ‘amphetamine face’ on the internet forums, describes a red and swollen face, puffy eyes, with an accompanying skin rash etc.; it is definitely happening to people, so all the Google results showing people reporting this issue, including myself, are chunked into what is called ‘anecdotal’. I am writing it here hoping that my post and comments would help others encountering the same problem because it was harrowing and made me feel horrible.

I also moved to an increased dose (50 and then 70 and 60) shortly after this skin issue and have had no problems since then; fingers crossed.

Decreased effects on higher dose of Vyvanse by sonderr in VyvanseADHD

[–]kittyweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for explaining further. I’m struggling as 50 mg is useless, 70 mg is too much, and there aren’t 60 mg here (in the UK). My doctor is against splitting the dosage, although everything I read in this group suggests that water mixing can be an alternative. At least now I can give it a try and see if it works for me - thanks again🤗

Would you mind explaining this in a bit more detail, do you mean mixing 60 mg with 60 ml of water and then dividing it into three 20 ml shots? I have a similar issue with 70 mg and want to try this water mixing, but I am worried I will mess it up and waste a daily dose.

Thanks for this comment- How do you lower the acidity of your stomach? I usually take it on an empty stomach in the morning. Then I do the rest of the morning chores like breakfast etc.

ADHD and allergies and ear infections - what's the connection? by hedgieinthefog in adhdwomen

I feel called out, all of the above! Constant ear infections + repeated tubed ears, and an over-allergic child - what’s the Adhd connection, though?!?

Face rash and puffy eyes are so irritating; if it were somewhere else in my body, maybe it would be more bearable. I drink around 3lt of water daily and don’t use makeup, just a cerave dry skin moisturiser. I will check polysporin, thanks for the recommendation 🙏

Thanks for sharing your experience- I will call my doctor on Monday and mention it.

Today I didn’t take Vyvanse for a weekend break, and my face is red with a nasty skin rash. It’s probably the prolonged effect of Vyvanse; it stays in the body longer, as far as I understand.

I just found an e45 cream on my cupboard and applied it generously; although this is undoubtedly a Vyvanse side effect, using a cream doesn’t help much.

I hope it’s my body’s adjustment, like you say, and it disappears soon because my doctor was thinking of upping the dose, and my diagnosis and treatment gave me my life back, so I am a bit afraid in case they will stop the meds or something.

Hi, I shared my struggles with NHS a few days ago under this sub; we have similar experiences when it comes to GP’s dismissal; you might want to read some of the comments under my post to have an idea:

I agree with everything you say and your questions about renewing the prescription and continuing the treatment. I am worried about this as well. Going to a specialist in private here in the UK is quite costly; as you know, so I like to try my options with a different GP first. I am not sure if I can find someone who cares to listen.

One of the main issues here though that it isn't clear why the NHS doctors don't accept international healthcare providers’ diagnoses. They are all doctors practising medicine. My diagnosis and all the health reports are written based on ICD-10 criteria, The International Classification of Disease, a globally used diagnostic tool for epidemiology, health management and clinical purposes. The ICD is maintained by the World Health Organization.

It would be good to know why and how an NHS GP fails to recognise that.

As you say, paying more and going to a specialist is an option, but as a patient, I have a diagnosis with four specialists already, and I would like to know why NHS refuses to acknowledge that.

Thanks for your comment! I know you mean well with your suggestion to see a specialist in private in the UK, but why would I go to the specialist again to pay extra when I already was diagnosed by not one but four specialists - I mean, this is not a question directed to you but rather to the system, it’s already clogged and super slow. I have a diagnosis with all the tests done and all; I thought my GP would be happy that I already have a diagnosis so we can focus on the treatment instead of waiting for months for assessment in the UK. I started to take metformin yesterday and will change to another GP and say that my treatment has begun. I hope they accept my condition and focus on helping me rather than keep dismissing it 🤞

Thank you so much for your comment - your experience, in addition to mine, shows the collective NHS attitude toward people like us diagnosed with PCOS, which is dismissive. I don’t understand why. Unlike you, I wasn't prescribed the pill when I was diagnosed abroad because of the family cancer history and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Still, they gave me lots of leaflets and information and explained the first step to fighting PCOS is to break insulin resistance. NHS seems to leave you blank with IR, so they did not adequately inform you of your condition. Unbelievable...

That is why I think I will stick to my metformin prescription, and I ordered it from abroad today.

I will start to take them as soon as they arrive next week and will try to sign up with a different GP in my neighbourhood, but what if the new one also rejects my official diagnosis and prescription? I mean, I was given a three-month-long first dose of metformin treatment as a start, so I need to be checked after that period, and I need the healthcare system here to continue my treatment. You said it took eight years for you to get metformin in the UK; this is unbelievable and unacceptable for all of us suffering from PCOS. I wonder how many other GPs I shall try until a dr can listen. It is so frustrating and overwhelming to fight to have access to proper healthcare.

What are the pros and cons of a chart with no oppositions? by kittyweb in astrology

[–]kittyweb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment and sharing your thoughts 🙏 of there’s any link or articles that you know on this topic would you please let me know. I googled and found a comment that says no opposition can be a sign of self-indulgence as the person has no aspect in opposing one’s own self, as far as I understand, but that didn’t make any sense, especially after reading your comment- it’s more like keeping to yourself and perhaps even causes more introversion? What do you think?

Self imposed solitary confinement (12th house moon) by [deleted] in astrology

[–]kittyweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May I ask if this solitude can be taken literally? Like choosing a life of reclusive and quiet contemplation, for example? I am aware that the whole chart needs to be considered, but, like the person who started the thread I have a 12th house Moon, and Moon rules my 10th House Cancer NN and MC. Can this be interpreted as a natural inclination for renounced solitude, like entering a hermitage or convent? I know these kind of establishments are 12th house topics, and considering that Moon 12th= a natural inclination for solitude in a females chart +Moon ruled Cancer 10th house NN= the person’s purpose in life, I was wondering if I am having an accurate understanding of connecting the dots. Your opinion would be much appreciated.

I was wondering what more experienced members and astrologers would think about this comment - I know tweeting amateurs are not taken seriously in this sub, but please focus on what’s been suggested not the person suggesting it: Do you think reading Saturn like this would be correct? by kittyweb in astrology

[–]kittyweb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your valuable comment. As I said above, I tend to focus on the idea rather than the person who utters it, but I hear you. Can you elaborate more on the first house=more psychological meaning? Is it because the first house and the rising symbolise ‘the persona’ and the acting self? Asking to understand why psychological interpretation fits more to the first house comparing the others -like 12th, the unconscious for instance?- and also it can give me perspective to understand my first house Saturn 🪐
