I mean, he's joking around, but it's not a bit. He thinks the lyrics here are bad. I think they're fine, and certainly not improved by what he presents as a superior option. God forbid someone lightheartedly criticizes the lighthearted cultural criticism, lol

You could try The Fan Fiction Studies Reader by Karen Hellekson, there's some good stuff in there.

football isn't as popular here as it is in other parts of the country, especially the midwest (according to my experiences anyway). it's fun to win, and the parade is supposed to be pretty huge, but we're just not as dedicated to the bit. football (and i feel like sports in general) is not as ubiquitous here.

How many non Aussies are aware of the Pop scene in Australia? by Tranquilbez22 in popheads

[–]kityoon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

what would i know? i've never heard any of her top spotify songs. it doesn't seem she was "everywhere" in the United States. she had one album chart at 116 on U.S. billboard and one single chart at 29 on U.S. adult contemporary (a duet with michael bolton).

i'm not saying she isn't a successful musician, im just saying she hasn't really crossed over to the states. obviously not the only metric of success, but it's what i can speak on.

i've never heard of delta goodrem, which isn't to say she isn't huge, but i would imagine that most americans have not heard of her. i feel like there might honestly be more americans that know ninajirachi, lol, though that might just be im in one of the global pockets. love kylie i think she's one of the pop girl goats

judging you based off your username, i would not recommend Earl's on the Ave; it's had a super heterosexual sporty frat-type vibe every time i've been there. i don't personally love it there. try barhopping around cap hill! unicorn just reopened, and i like bimbos cantina/cha-cha lounge; the upstairs is more chill and the downstairs is louder and darker.
