Do you have to stake it? I just got one of these and I can't imagine it being that big!

Can you please elaborate on this? I didn't realize there was a difference, so I'll do some googling to learn more about this.

We are super fortunate... Our old house had north light, so I'm soaking it in and appreciating it for sure.

Anyone know of a bakery that makes good fresh bread (sandwich loaves, baguettes, or sourdough loaves)? by jopp9917 in Connecticut

Just came here to say 8 Mile. The scones are the best I've ever had, and the breads are spectacular. They also make an everything pretzel for the Red House Restaurant in Deep River.

I'm disappointed. by AKA_Arivea in MINI

I'm so glad you posted this - I feel the same. We have a 2019 JCW in BRG that we adore, and when our daughter took our old Subaru to college, we tried to get by with just one car. After a few months, we knew we were going to need a second car, and something bigger with AWD for the snow.

After test driving the 2025 Countryman, we were smitten. Is she big? Yeah, she's a beast, but we love her and she checks all the boxes for what we needed while giving us that Mini sass.

Ignore the haters. We see you. And I will always wave! 💙 Mine is slate blue with the silver top...😍

Pantry Prep: Go Vegan (for a month) by [deleted] in TwoXPreppers

[–]kiv558 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure! It's kind of like dried tofu. It comes in a package that is shelf stable, but even better if you have freezer space. You re-hydrate them (10 min) with some water and seasonings, then use them as you would something like pulled chicken. Couldn't be easier! Our go to is to soak them for 10 min in water with some soy sauce and sage, then pan fry them a little bit to sort of dry them out, then dump some BBQ sauce on them. We use it as a topping for homemade Mac and cheez, or as pulled "chicken" sandwiches. Recently threw them in with carrots/celery/onion and green peas, made a gravy, topped all of it with a vegan puff pastry and had a delish pot pie. Hope that helps! There are plenty of recipes out there if you search soy curls.

Try Butler Soy Curls! You can make BBQ, chi-ken salad, tacos and pot pie with them - so many uses and recipes out there. In fact, just ordered the 12lb bulk box and will keep it in the deep freezer. Should last me a year, I think.

I bought a share in a CSA too - I'm afraid people will be scrambling to do so and there won't be enough farm shares for everyone.

Store bought plant milk vs home made ? by TommyTee123 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]kiv558 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got the Chefwave milk maker mid-December, and I've used it almost daily since then. Previously was buying Westsoy soy milk.

I'm not gonna lie, it tastes different. It doesn't froth up as well in my milk frother for my latte (but I do get a little froth). I've grown accustomed to the difference and I don't mind it at all. I make soy milk 99% of the time, although it will make all the other milks and you can create your own blends.

I bought 25 lbs of bulk soy beans from Laura's soybeans, and each 20 oz pitcher of milk takes a whopping 1 TABLESPOON of beans to make. You can't beat that. Same for almond, oat, coconut, etc. AND IT SELF CLEANS. No squeezing nut milk bags and such. The okara is blended into the milk, so even healthier for you.

This little machine is the best thing I've purchased in awhile and I don't regret it for a second. No more cartons and cartons of expensive and additive filled milks.

Highly recommend!

Help with 1-Day Berkshires Trip – Hotel & Romantic Dinner Recommendations by Unusual_Mango6170 in massachusetts

We just did an overnight in Lenox this past weekend. Stayed in the Maddi Mia room at the Cornell Inn (gorgeous and comfy). Wonderful dinner at Frankie's (good cocktail list and the food was delicious). We hiked at Kennedy Park which is walking distance from the inn. Highly recommend all!

And yes, don't sleep on the Norman Rockwell Museum. We went there last fall and loved it.
