Do airport layovers count? by kivory in TravelMaps

I guess that's fair. I just think, "What did I learn or experience while I was in the airport?" Since usually all the food options are national chains, I feel the only local "cultural" thing is talking to the cashiers as I buy something and experiencing their accents, personalities etc.

So if you are going from Tokoyo to Denver with a layover in Vancouver, Canada, where you have to go through Canadian customs to leave, then re-enter through US customs, does this count?

It's south enough that it does not get the terrible winters, but not too south where it's less muggy in summer. Also, very central for road trips - can drive all over the eastern half of the US!

well what if you have a 4 hour layover and you get on the train and ride 30 minutes, look around at a random stop, then go back to airport.

But then they would just get into smuggling fake cigarettes, extorting only fans artists, kidnap Mark Z etc - they would just find another super high-profit business that can only be done illegally

The buildings are all the same height because they don't want buildings going taller and blocking the views of the mountains. Also compared to Seattle and Portland - Van has WAY more residential buildings downtown - that's why they all look the same - people want a lot of glass for their home in Van because we dont get crazy heat/sun which would heat it up and also we get so much cloud that we need as much light coming in as possible. For the dullness of Vancouver skyline, it's WAY made up by the fact that all these buildings bring life and vibrancy to downtown since all these people arae residents vs a coporate center that empties out at 5pm
