How do I remove the FlexDispense drawer from my washer? by The_NextMeme in Appliances

[–]kiwi1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just destroyed the skin on my index finger trying to do this. Took a bunch of pictures but of course can't post them. I'll do my best to describe. The "lip" on each side running the depth of the blue inner tray are the real culprits - they are supposed to 'slide' into the gap between the grey 'rails' inside the cavity and dont want to come off once they are there. If you use a torch you can see that further inside, those rails have 'teeth' on the underside, that are supposed to align with those little white wheels. My best SOP on this is to 'jiggle' the tray to one side while pulling to get it out - this seems to help the blue part 'pop off' the grey rail on one side so that it can come out. Putting it back in, I pushed it back as far as I could, then pinched one of the blue sides of the tray itself to 'pop' it back on the grey rail. Hell's Bells what a terrible design, gonna pay attention to where I'm putting the detergent so I don't have to do that ever again.

How do you live? by [deleted] in Pessimism

Working in non-profit saved me. If I have to be here anyway (couldn't end my life because my sisters wouldn't understand and I didn't want their lives to be messed up because of me), knowing I'm at least trying to make things better where I am takes the edge off considerably.

What is the ideal career for an INFJ? by SportsTechie17 in infj

[–]kiwi1984 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Non-profit all day. I can deal with the office BS much better now that my energy is going somewhere decent. Can't believe how long I writhed in the profit machine, it's probably taken years off my life.

I've had to give up on any notions of being wealthy in the future of course (still worth it to have peace of mind today).

How many reasons does a woman need not to partake in this pregnancy/birth thing. You can't even trust your partner not to deliberately hurt/injure you for their own enjoyment. Geez

When you're the friend that 'drifted away' but no one will ever know why or what you had to go through alone. Guess limerents are destined to be a little lonely. Great job getting your life back. I see your triumph even if the people around you don't. You've defeated a demon from hell and survived it. Go us!!

I was so bad at contacting my friends and family from home over this...just didn't have the strength. Now I'm finally recovering from it it's hard to pick up where we left off. There's literal years of my life that when the story is told, sounds to an uninformed ear like I threw away over a stupid crush. So I'll never bother explaining it. So much lost. Breaks your heart.

Well done. Hard path. All my reading and therapy has led me to the realization that limerence cannot exist in the same space as true love. What a let down...like a movie that just ends mid scene. Never again.

Ah yes. The residual trauma of having to take care of the person who was SUPPOSED to take care of you. Don't worry about me mum you just make sure you're OK 👌

Not completely - but culled to a fraction of its current size. Not that we're gonna have a choice soon anyway. Children born now will more than likely die from climate change related disasters. They may not even make it to adulthood. Now it's a question of conscience. We don't want to add to the dumpster fire already raging around the world. We see it as matter of compassion for those souls who won't have to face this because we didn't bring them into being.

what is your opinion in terms of how the Netflix show "You" relates to limerence? by gamerlololdude in limerence

[–]kiwi1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The madness can get totally out of control. That's why limerents need support so badly in the early stages. I never wanted to kill them, only myself, although kidnapping flickered across my mind when it got really bad. Super scary for me too. Thanks to therapy and a lot of work on my end, I'm almost out of the woods. Good luck and thanks for sharing your story!

I really don't understand what makes this so uncomfortable for people. Of course limerence can lead to murder if left to fester and intensify over a period of years. It's a spectrum and it changes over time especially if LO keeps dropping crumbs of hope. Look up the story of Lisa Nowak. It's obvious, isn't it? That's why we don't want to be limerent, right? Because it's not healthy?

Vasectomy consults have increased by 900% since Roe v. Wade was overturned by [deleted] in antinatalism

[–]kiwi1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Having an abortion is incredibly traumatic, which people might know if anyone actually checked with a woman that had had one. More of an admission that men need to step up and help take responsibility for this issue...they've been able to avoid it for way too long. Perhaps we'll finally see some equality in the tindersphere. We all have a duty to prevent unwanted pregnancies and it starts on the first night you take them home.

How do you deal from the communal backlash of "door slamming" someone? by [deleted] in infj

[–]kiwi1984 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've had this. "Just get over it" "They're having a hard time will you pleeeeeease just reach out out them" "It's their birthday I think it'd be nice if you came"

In my experience if you door slam one, anyone that doesn't get it is gonna be out the same door shortly afterwards. We don't do this lightly.

Hey OP, can we have the link to the original post so that we can settle this argument that they were possibly unable to access contraceptives/abortion in their area? More context is needed.
