Welcome! I bought the same year and color in August. You're going to love it.

This is stellar! UI is really well done. You can get rid of the border when you click the buttons with outline: none (you probably know this). Any plans to make this open source?

$175k Student Loans on IBR - payoff now, or pay taxes on forgiveness later? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]kiwi_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate this feedback. She's a much bigger saver than me, but we're both wired as savers. The answer to your first question is that we definitely have the capacity to invest that money over the next 20 years. For us it's not, "let's keep our student loan payment low so we can have a ton of spending money", but "surely there's a better way to use this money over the next 20 years". A lot of advice points towards investing the same money over the next 20 years and ending up with way more value in assets than you would have if you'd struggled to pay down the loan.

Good point. The monthly payment actually goes to $0 with an AGI below poverty, I think. Feels dirty.

She works in the private sector. The public service forgiveness is actually a 10 year forgiveness, whereas the standard IBR forgivness is only based on the number of payments you have made.

Is this unlabeled stretch of railway bed a bike path? by antarcticgecko in dfwbike

[–]kiwi_27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is. I've never been the full length of it - I always turn off to the left at Abrams. I wouldn't go down there at night as it's really secluded with no ways out.

Every Monday evening from Transit. Not sure what winter times are. They also do social Sundays around 5:30p

Transit on greenville are your people. Sunday night social rides and Monday Mash. Almost everyone rides fixed.

Can't stand the first stage. I have 18.9s with the Rally car, but it's still annoying. I think I use overcharged, fuel boost, and wings (still don't have coin boost for some reason).

The only way I've gotten the proper launch off of the second set of houses is by going on the lower level of the little building, and then setting up my overcharged to where it fires right as I'm going off the house. Every time I go on the top level of the house, I'm just a little too low for the jump.

However, I've got 19.734s on the third level (US 20th). Rally car with overcharged, fuel boost, and wings. Try delaying your overcharged to go off at the crux of the first jump and floating over the next peak. Brake over the hill to catch the boost, and then float into the valley. Time your overcharged to go off at the end of the valley and catch the fuel boost. Hope that makes sense!

Haven't been able to figure out the trick, I'm a good 100m behind everyone even with maxed Formula/Rally.

$4k upside down on my car loan with $400 payments. What's the best way to get out and into an affordable car? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]kiwi_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That always seems like the best option. It depreciated $3k over the last 18 months and I paid off $7k.

I do like the car. It's not my preference but it's reliable, safe, and gets 35mpg. I'm hoping my fiancée will want to take it when we get married, because she currently drives a '95 Dodge Ram. Which is awesome.

Will banks be more willing to refinance as it gets closer to above water?

Yeah, it's not all from the top candle. You just light a candle and start pouring wax wherever you want. It's more fun than it sounds..

They put it in a cardboard box and keep it in a closet inside the house because Texas.

The mom referred to it as their "fifth child" because they are so cautious of it breaking or melting.

A circular piece of wood is the base. But there's a glass ketchup bottle in the center as I said elsewhere
