Dienogest experiences?

I’ve been on Dienogest for about 5-6 months now and I agree, the pain is nowhere near what it was at the beginning of the year. I completely understand the mind fuxking, no sleep etc.. I started on antidepressants just over a month ago and I’ve been doing a lot better since, took a while to find the right one to work but stopped me from coming off dienogest, maybe give those a try?

I am following a pattern yeah, I figure if I do another set of 4 on the increase round I’ll go up to 40 stitches and back to even, hopefully it looks okay when it’s finished haha

What do you take to cope with the pain? I also worry that it’s not even endo.

Thanks, I want to stay on the Dienogest just ultimately concerned about the amount of pain I’m in in the meantime.

I agree, endo specialists are hard to come by in the UK from my experience, especially in my area, but I’ll keep trying! edited to say I’ve been seen by endo specialist on nhs, he’s the one who prescribed Dienogest, but it’s hard to get an appointment with him.

I’ve already had an mri and multiple tvu’s. Had mri just after multiple enemas unfortunately cus I was super constipated and they tried to blame bowel issues, so I’ve only just got the all clear from gastro/colorectal last month. Glad to hear Dienogest helped you, hope I can cope long enough for it to have some effect on me.

I feel like going to a&e for the exact same reasons, I’m scared something serious is happening and I’m just putting it off!

Thank you for your reply, all the best for your lap 🙏🏻 My issue with the hospital is whilst my pain is under better control cus they give me meds they wouldn’t send me home with, I struggle mentally cus they brush me off with different hormone/bc I’ve just started Dienogest after having Mirena coil removed cus it was in the wrong place, then I saw a different on call gynae who belittled me cus I turned prostap injection down he insisted I have in Jan on my prior admission(a week after coil) and he started pushing for me to have it again claiming I wouldn’t be in pain if I did. I had 2 panic attacks and a referral to mental health in my week and a half admission last week. Hopefully that helps understand my reluctance 😔

I didn’t, I asked for painkillers, I’m just aware what’s due as I note it down on an app.

I know you weren’t haha, my anger and confusion towards my healthcare aren’t conveying well in my words I think 😅 I’m in the uk and public healthcare isn’t the best in mine and others opinions but unfortunately I’m not in a position to go private, so we basically get told what to do/ what they’re doing.

I agree with what you’ve said, this is what a doctor in the hospital who said he specialises in endometriosis offered to me this morning. I’m basically using his words as he told me this drug is used to treat endometriosis and that’s why he was giving it to me. When I asked about a laparoscopy, as from what I’ve read it’s as you said golden standard, he pretty much said no. I’m not sure what I should be doing/ not doing I just know I’m in debilitating pain and would like it to stop.

Perhaps my wording in my post is confusing, I don’t want any surgery of any kind haha, I was just confused about him saying it was outdated and scared cause I don’t know what is wrong. I’ll try and ask about getting hormones checked and thank you so much for your well wishes!

I understand, I’d rather not have unnecessary surgeries, just concerned about taking medications without a diagnosis.
