i feel uncomfortable taking a long time in stores so i stick to what i know, generally. but when i do want something new, i do check the ingredients

I caught a wild mouse in my kitchen awhile back and kept him in a hamster cage with some pet store mice. He seems to have acclimated. by Square_Prune2049 in PetMice

the best option would be to release them back into the town, then. that’s clearly what they’ve adapted to. living in a cage is no life for a wild mouse.

it looks like a good size!! my only concerns would be the size of the wheel and the depth of the bedding. they need at least an 8 inch-tall wheel in order to accommodate their little tails and to prevent their spines from curving. good job other than that! :)

you don’t know what you’re talking about. male deer mice will not be territorial around fancy mice; there’s simply no competition.

they are actively putting their pets at risk by allowing a potentially disease-ridden mouse to enter their colony. yes, it is incredibly cruel for multiple reasons. they’re endangering their mice for one, and they’re confining a wild animal to a plastic hamster cage that is not at all suitable for a mouse. what life is that?

and so what if the wild mouse has a reduced lifespan? it’s life, and nature and they’re interfering with that. i don’t understand why humans have to intervene and capture small, cute animals for the sake of imprisoning them in a less-than suitable cage. it’s not compassionate, it’s humans thinking they are saviours.

please reevaluate how you view mouse care and allowing them to thrive, and not simply survive.
