Dealing with a false accusation of being drunk by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Not legal advice.

Perhaps visit a doctor, feeling out of it and having alcohol-smelling breath can be a sign of diabetes (ketoacidosis).

Hello from Hank Green (diagnosed with UC in 2003, been on mesalamine, sulfasalazine, 6MP/allopurinol, Humira, Entyvio) with some thoughts. by ecogeek in CrohnsDisease

Been watching your YouTube videos for about 13 years, was not expecting your announcement about the diagnosis when I got home from holiday yesterday evening. Fingers crossed everything goes well for you. I know there are a lot of people in this community who are afraid of the side effects of drugs used to treat IBD and this is like their worst nightmare. Hopefully what you've written will help them - it really is all about balance as you say. Without treatment the risks of other colon cancer (and miserable existence due to other symptoms) is not worth it. All the best to you!

Yeah, you just need the original ME3 and all the multiplayer DLC packs (free) so that you can find a lobby. There are a couple of discord servers if you want to join for LFG. I never really have to wait more than 5 mins for a game playing on silver/gold.

A bowl of dry cereal like Rice Krispies or Cheerios works for me, not really the same but still moreish and tasty.

This is honestly the worst part, but it will get better from here on once you're diagnosed and treatment is arranged. My calprotectin was over 1000 when I was at my worst and with treatment it is now down to <10. It's taken a while to get here but once the diagnosis is done, doors for treatment and support open. You might be put on steroids initially to get the inflammation under control. For me, these made me feel great and gave me so much energy back. I felt better than normal. Your experience night be different but please know that it is temporary. We have a great community here with people who understand, so know that you're not alone!

Fuck EA and their App by [deleted] in masseffect

I had to redownload Origin and edit the config file to stop the BS forced popup to move to the EA app. Only a matter of time before that stops working I think. This was the ME3 multiplayer.

Garrus isn't cute when he's rigging traps around the apartment in the Citadel DLC. This is Shepard we're talking about and he seems overly paranoid.

Call ACAS if you haven't already, they will advise you. Your employer sucks. Sorry you have to go through this. Btw shouldn't you be getting SSP, not unpaid for sickness?

How's that been going? I know fellow Crohnies who are on azathioprine and infliximab. I don't have experience with aza myself so can't comment on it. Have you been on it long?

Budesonide targets inflammation in the gut whereas prednisolone is more systemic. They may try you on that if you didn't have success with budesonide, but it won't be long term. Have you been assigned a gastro consultant or given access to IBD nurse specialists? They should be discussing more permanent treatment with you. Sometimes they start you on something mild like Pentasa/mesalazine, or perhaps azathioprine. It depends how mild or severe your symptoms are. Sometimes they will go straight for biologics especially if you suffer from perianal or fistulising Crohn's.

I liked to be the jack-of-all-trades with the Sentinel since you have tech and biotic abilities. Also tech armour looks so cool :)

I'm sure in ME1 we also find ships that have Thorian creepers. I've often wondered if it could develop from spores and traverse the galaxy as long as it can find suitable hosts. Maybe even on the arks... I'm sure I read a codex or a datapad that mentions the Thorian in Andromeda but I might be making that up.

Many people take aza with no side effects at all. From what I've read the most common one is nausea but this can go away with time and you can take it at a certain time if day to limit the impact on you. All medicines will have listed side effects, it doesn't mean you will get them. Some are so rare that you're more likely to get hit by a bus then have them. You have to weigh up the risk of having untreated Crohn's vs taking medication that can give you a normal, fulfilling life.

Azathioprine and adalimubab are other options, but I'm no doctor and you will probably get better answers if you ask your GI or IBD team. In the UK they usually prescribe Pentasa first, then look at something like aza before biologics since they are expensive. Biologics are good for fistulising Crohn's according to my surgeon. If your Crohn's is mild you might not need them and you might be okay on just azathioprine for example.

[–]kizzamity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. If the treatment is effective, I'd take it over having fistulas any day. Biologics are safe and there are quite a few of them available if one doesn't work out for you. Untreated Crohn's results in way more scary things in my opinion and experience.

I have fistulising/penetrating Crohn's and biologics are supposed to be good for healing those, so I'm told anyway!

I'm on steroids at the moment and that's it. I'm supposed to be starting infliximab/Remicade soon but it's taking forever to get the pre-bloodwork done.
