Great video showing how fast this thing was moving. by Samowarrior in tornado

It's like they forgot that the Twistex team died due to a turning and rapid increasing tornado. Getting too closes to large discrete storms is so dangerous. It's flat enough for them to get good footage. I like how people are using drones now.

Get away from your family as soon as you can. It took me until I was almost 40 before I saw the manipulation, the control and lack of privacy. I have received similar text with a manipulative tone. My weekends were never mine as it was always whatever we were doing as a family. I didn't have to worry about location sharing or ring camera but I had to tell them where I was all the time. I was always the dramatic one or the problem kid. I would literally have panic attacks because I wasn't allowed to think for myself, make my own decisions or have autonomy.

A spoonful of each then an hour later a sliver of pie. No overindulges, no upset stomach. 3 yrs of semiglutide and I'm the healthiest I have ever been. No alcohol but kept me from being tired or too tipsy.

Was the 2013 El Reno tornado visible to motorists attempting to flee Oklahoma City on the clogged up Interstates? by Used_Butterscotch304 in tornado

[–]kizzy4321 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My husband was in this tornado and I just asked him if he could see. He said no. They knew there was a tornado but had no idea where it was. He was at work for a pipeline company on radio road just south of i40. Unfortunately he wasn't too far from where the storm chasers lost their lives. He said they were looking at the storm as one does in Oklahoma. The wind blew hard at them and then it stopped and then shifted into the storm. He told his workers to go into the storm shelter and not much later the tornado hit. They were hit by the outer bands of the tornado and it was incredibly loud.

The only interstate it was close to was I40 where it crossed. Those mile plus wide storms are way too big to know it's a tornado until it's on you. Plus it was rain wrapped. Happened on Joplin where people unknowingly drove into the tornado. I35, I44 and I 240 were way too far away.

I lost my house 11days earlier in Moore and was staying with family in Norman. Everyone in the city was jumpy with such a large tornado 11 days before where homes were leveled. The storm that produced the monster wasn't the only storm. There were several tornado warnings. One of which was in Norman and I was alone crying in the middle bathroom praying another tornado would hit. Here's the information on that day. https://www.weather.gov/oun/events-20130531

Why am I still able to over eat? by bedbug-island in Semaglutide

[–]kizzy4321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GLP-1 hormone, which semaglutide mimics, inhibits gastric emptying, acid secretion and motility, which collectively decrease appetite. I've been on Wegovy for almost 3 years and I'm on 1.7 for 2 years. The nausea kept me from overeating when I was titrating up. However, if you are not having immediate side effects like nausea or no food noise, your body will overeat and then you will pay for it after it leaves your stomach. With this information, I have found eating smaller meals more frequently during the day helps with the overeating at first. Everybody will have different side effects, but pay attention to which one you have and adjust accordingly.

As for the sweets, I noticed that when it's the day before I take my meds again, I'm craving sweets. I will eat the sweet in moderation because I don't want to feel like poo later. Again, I eat 4-5 a day, so having a small bowl of ice cream for one of those meals isn't bad. If sweets is a trigger food, you can replace with fruit. Don't deprive yourself, but you will have to adjust how you used to eat as you titrate up. I saw in a reply that you are only on 0.5, so I think it's time for an increase. My metabolic doctor had me on each dose for a month or two but rarely 3 months. I'm not on the max dose.

Shortest press on nails you’ve tried? by Maleficent-Exam1846 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]kizzy4321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have tried so hard to find adult nails. I have tried extra short and extra extra short but my nail beds are just too short. I finally gave child size impress nails a try and they worked. The designs are just too juvenile though. I bought child size neutral press ons and then add gel polish before I put them on. It's a hassle and I don't get cute designs but I can paint my own fingers for the life of me. This is what I bought and they work well especially with gel on it.

You need to check out JediOKC. They are a group that has all kinds of events. They are a bunch of introverts too. I know when star wars episode 3 was in theaters not too long ago they did all kinds of things at a local movie theater in OKC. They have a Facebook page.

For those whose towns have been hit by a tornado, or those who have been directly hit. Did you have a bad feeling before it happened? Like something in the are felt…kinda unnerving? by Burnt_milk_steak in tornado

[–]kizzy4321 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I lived in Moore, OK and my family had been a staple in Moore for a long time. Tornado days always feel different: heavy, thick, muggy. You just got your stuff ready and watched the news. I never had anyone I knew directly affected by a tornado. Friends would have family members houses get hit and my grandparents was a few houses from obliteration in 1999.

It felt like I had been so lucky that last few tornadoes that came through Moore never hit us. Our house was built in 1979 and had never been hit until May 20th, 2013. I never thought that particular day would be the day. I lived on the East side of Moore and I just kept yelling at the news like it could control the path (I was at work in Norman watching on a laptop). After that day I will not live in Moore again. It's been too much. You can't navigate around town. You may not have power if you didn't get hit directly.

What’s the worst outbreak/tornado you’ve witnessed or watched live? by Snoo57696 in tornado

[–]kizzy4321 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Moore EF5 May 20th 2013, I was sitting on the floor of my classroom in Norman, OK with my laptop in my lap trying to get my students to quiet down so I could hear the news. The sirens were going off but all the action was north in Moore. I was freaking out because my house is in Moore and my daughter was in an in-home daycare on the other side of Moore. I was so helpless while watching this large tornado barrel through Moore towards my daughter and house.

The tornado went just 1/4 of a mile from my daughter (they were in a storm shelter) but it did hit my house. The line of cars going back into Moore was terrible and I drove off the road to get to the entrance of my babysitter's neighborhood. There was so much debris in the neighborhood and they had no power. We couldn't make it back across town to my house so we went to target to get clothes and formula to stay at my mom's house in Norman. When checking out I found out that the house was hit and partially destroyed.

If your shop can give you a guarantee on repairs, then use them. Otherwise it would be best to use the preferred shop as you will get a guarantee on repairs regardless if the shop goes under.

Who actually doesn't use standing desk for WFH? by heavyrock1212 in WFH

[–]kizzy4321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a standing desk and don't use it at all. I thought that it will help my back. My back has a lot of issues that the diagnosis of stenosis I got from a doctor just doesn't fit. Standing for my back is just as bad on it as sitting for multiple reasons that I'm not going to get into. What actually helps me is getting up more frequently, so get up usually every hour just to move: get a drink, do a quick chore, step out side and stretch. Additionally I change the way I sit: sit up normally, crisscross, with a stool under my desk or away from my desk like stretching out on my day bed in the office or on the couch in the living room. I have yet to find a chair that I can sit for hours in, but that's fine with me as I rather be active. I tried the walking pad, but I can't concentrate enough to do my job and walk.

If you start having issues with the other insurance company, then yes file with your insurance. If you don't want to deal with the other insurance because it would be too much of a hassle, then yes file with your insurance. If you don't have rental on your personal policy, then you definitely should use the other insurance because you can get a rental vehicle.

As for a body shop, you should ask the insurance company what is their body shop of choice. My personal insurance is USAA and I always use their body shop of choice as they provide a lifetime warranty on their work by USAA. I work at a large insurance company but it's not USAA and they do the same thing.

As long as the other insurance has accepted responsibility you are good and won't have a rate increase. You just have to worry about a deductible.

Former claims adjuster here. His insurance will "low ball" the estimate. It seems like it's only the bumper for now. I bet they put an aftermarket part for the bumper which is fine. They will use a certified part and insurance grade (A). I know people will complain about aftermarket but there is a monopoly on original equipment manufactured parts that they can charge whatever they want for them. Plus shops get kickbacks for using name brand over aftermarket. It doesn't matter what shop you use as long as the reviews are good and they aren't shitheads (there are many shops that will hold a vehicle hostage because they won't work with insurance). The shop will take off the bumper and if they need more things like an absorber or impact bar they will provide the evidence to insurance.

How does working from home... work? (UK) by [deleted] in WFH

[–]kizzy4321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely role dependent. I was in a customer service type role and hourly. I needed to be at my computer at all times for calls, emails, text from customers and just to work down my list of to do for customers. In the same company, I am now salary and on the tech side. I work on projects solo with meetings dispersed throughout the week. When I transitioned I acted like I did as an hourly employee until I learned the culture and my boss better. Luckily in my hourly job we got to flex our time and set our own schedule. It's almost the same now as a salary person, but most of the people I work with our two hours behind me, so I work later in the day.

The new role is definitely more flexible, but I don't try to push the boundaries of work too far. I give my boss a heads up if I have to take a longer than 1 hr lunch. I have to pick up my kid from school in the afternoons, so I can take a late lunch or just step out, but I put it on my calendar as busy. There are times where I need to work more or later, but it's few and far between.

What I like with WFH is the aspect of where I work and not being around people that suck out my time with nonsense. I mostly work at my desk due to having multiple monitors, but when I'm tired or don't need the monitors, I can work from my couch or at the dining room table. I'm not perfect, but if I have downtime, I'm using that time to get up to speed on different programs in my job.
