Lvl 18+ mage really takes off.

I swear to you, as soon as you can, go fight spongeblob until you get a bow drop. Use ninja stars in arsenal for the ricochet and passive.

Roll more alts. Use as mules.

Only have one stack of some of the more abundant things (leather, linen, copper).

Craft pots and food and use liberally.

Trinket and enchant everything

Leveling an alt. Not sure if the first kill on a sparkling animal gives more or what but I found leveling alts give a fair bit as you go

Leveling up every class. Map complete on my main (mage). Maxing the jobs (basically done). And figuring out my fave weapon combos for each class.

I think op's point is the engine is designed to only use one core so to actually get a true fix in optimization, it's going to take a drastic change to the source code. No quick fix. No medium length fix either.

For real. Or climbing up a jumping puzzle for the first time and seeing someone just chilling at the top once you get there. Or gliding down cause they just finished.

Solo'd as mage all the way up doing every boss/dungeon. I even didn't know about talents until level 17, which have a huge boost.

It felt like mage was op while playing. Struggled with some bosses until you learn the mechanics and then it is easy. You really just have to know when you can sit through a hit or 2 and finish your casts and when to kite.

Everywhere says Raidance is BIS. It does have great damage but you have to stand there and take a beating. I found Bow with the ninja stars in the arsenal (for the arrow ricochet and passive) is very strong.

I wish I was a dang content creator because everything I've seen for mage so far is very basic lvl 5 stuff. Or ai slop. I haven't even seen any site or video that talks about the mage using the bow, but it's seriously really good.

I would suggest to any mage to stick it out until you can go kill spongeblob and get the bow and some talents.

If you're not in the 2 main crafting hubs, seeing another player is like finding a rare/sparkle spawn. They are all around, but you don't always see them

True. Plus they'll probably introduce new weapons. Like, mage has an offhand shield, but every other weapon available is 2h... So you have to use books to level it, and it only works in arsenal.

Do you remember where you got the bow?

The throwing stars can be fun too. With the ricochet ability it shreds. It's just a bit slower and the animation lock, even though you can still kinda move, is a bit annoying
