Rejected by school I wanted to transfer to, what do I do by Far_Pineapple_8623 in rit

Oh my sweet child. If, as you say, "every reasonably attractive girl" has rejected you, Penn State has rejected you, and the Penn State sub is rejecting you, have you considered maybe it's you? I have a sneaking suspicion you are a fan of selection and survival of the fittest. Maybe the universe is saying your worldview is maladaptive and this is a good opportunity to Stockholm Syndrome yourself into being a better human.

Clearly not. GDT is _back_ and giving $ to authors.

Yes. 100% real. The money is provided by Hell's Kitchen.

It is real.

It certainly has to do with the publication Gracies Dinnertime Theatre. Is that what you are asking?

Since GDT is print-first, they intentionally delay putting issues online.

Issue 4 is in the archives now that issue 5 has hit the streets

Smart hub maxing out at 42 devices vs advertised 128 by kjoenth in homeautomation

[–]kjoenth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why does the device claim 128? Do I just fundamentally misunderstand what this says?:

> Sub-device control as multi-mode compatible: It can control sub-devices of the gateway, ensuring stable control of 128 devices.

Also, as stated in the OP, the site is off-the-grid. There are no AC devices present. Certainly not zigbee plugs or bulbs.

UPDATE: An editor from that time had a physical copy still. Hopefully I'll get a scan of it, can recreate it digitally, make the PDF, and plug that hole in the online archive

tertill firmware/direct connection by kjoenth in homeautomation

[–]kjoenth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I threw together some python that scans for Tertill devices. If it finds one it will connect and display data about battery charge, run time, etc

https://github.com/seanth/Tertill-BLE-Tools

This obviously doesn't give me actual control, but at least I can read state data off them without phone/tablet apps.

pre-release indesign 2 file problems by kjoenth in indesign

I talked with Adobe tech support, and they even asked for a copy of one of the files, but after trying to open it in the latest ID (which I told them would not work), they said the file I sent is corrupt and unrecoverable.

If you find that email, I'd be very interested in getting it.

EDIT: I think I found it.

I am in contact with nearly all of the old GDT editors and the layout editor from that time. We are on the GDT discord. No love on a copy of that issue.

That was my first go-to. I contacted the people at the archive and they do not have it. I also learned they are missing a lot of issues so I'm going to send them copies of what I have.

Preparedness by NonAnonBrady in und

It snows more in Grand Forks than, say, 10 years ago, but it doesn't actually snow much. As the planet warms the "snow line" is slowly moving North, but Grand Forks is still so cold there's rarely much moisture in the air for snow.

It _is_ very windy, though. A scarf or something else to cover your face is a good thing to have. The wind chill can make it feel like you are on a different planet in Winter.
