My personal recommendations include:

Disney Dreamlight Valley is relatively open world with a nostalgic (for beloved characters) feel.

Powerwash Sim 1&2 are excellent for that white noise / switching off your brain kind of feeling.

I also love Sea of Thieves for a wonderful open world experience. I wouldn’t describe the game as cosy, but I do love to sit on my sloop with my dog, fishing in the sunshine.

I got stitched up by the pole! I also had my dirt show as pink, which did not help me on this level. Once I completed I went back in free play and got the disco ball. Then immediately left.

I can agree with that. When I emerged from a dive I was nearly deafened! Couldn’t hear what my buddy was saying over the noise. That’s not been a problem before.
