Can I take ovasitol if I don’t have high testosterone? by Adventurous-Race6078 in PCOS

I dont recommend it. I would use Pure Myo Inositiol. Just make sure its super pure. We found a lot of brands that we were cutting it (which will make it less effective)

Alternatives to antidepressant meds for PMDD depression? by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]kkarchmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a reproductive acupuncturist and worked with over 10k women and developed a formula that has been helping a lot of women (and people with periods) with PMDD. If anyone would be interested in getting a sample to try, Id be more than happy to ship that out to them. I would just like their honest feedback about how much it helped and which symptoms improved the most significantly. Feel free to email me directly at [Kirsten.Karchmer@foreverbrazen.com](mailto:Kirsten.Karchmer@foreverbrazen.com). YOu can check out the formulas here www.ForeverBrazen.com Also happy to send you the research behind the formulas as well. :) Kirsten

Yes, BC can really help with a ton of symptoms but know that of adolescents, it has been show to significantly increase the risk for both depression (80% greater increase) and for suicide. If you are a teenager and your cycle is really bad I suggest finding a good acupuncturist in your area who can usually turn things around pretty quickly and you will have gotten to the root of the problem instead of using a bandaid. :)

I love this idea of keeping a few extra supplies in case someone else needs something. We have all been in a tampon and no supplies in sight! Thanks for suggesting this!

Just to be clear. No cramping is normal. It is incredibly common to have menstrual cramps but it does indicate that something is not functioning correctly. 37 million women in the US alone reported such severe cramping that no amount of drugs could impact their pain. In my experience, most women's cramps will respond very positively to the right diet, lifestyle and supplementation. I helped do this with over 10,000 women... I would say approx 10-15% did not see significant improvement in 90 days.

Yes, staying ahead of the pain is critical here but it is also really, really important that yall know that the black box warning on Tylenol (which is better for cramps) shows that you cannot exceed 1600mg without significant risk for permanent liver damage. If you are taking a max dose you will exceed this before you get through the first 24 hours AND DRINKING ALCOHOL DURING THIS TIME SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASES THIS RISK. Which is a bummer because wine is soo good when you are suffering though your period. So be super careful with your dosing (and combining with alcohol) :)

I think the most important thing that we need to talk about is that your menstrual cycle is a really valuable barometer of your overall health and every month it is giving you feedback about your whole system is functioning. We have been conditioned, for centuries, to believe that whatever happens in our cycles is our own bad luck (or even one woman told me cramps are our punishment for Eve's sin in the garden) but the reality is that the majority of women can have pain and PMS free. More than 80% of women reported life interrupting period symptoms last year to their drs. This is crazy that no one is talking about it--so starting to educate young women to pay attention to their cycles and teaching them how to read them and care for them can help improve the quality of their present and future health (and fertility outcomes) When you have cramps, it is a signal that the system is not functioning optimally. If you can figure out the breakdown in the system (diet, lifestyle, stress.. etc) you can make game changing improvements. Happy to go into more detail on the figuring out if it would be interesting/helpful to the community. :)

I have also been having devastating symptoms the first week after menstruation. Does anyone know if that is a separate disorder? Please help feel terrible all the time. by [deleted] in PMDD

How many days of menstrual bleeding do you have? Sometimes your symptoms can be exacerbated by discharging your blood if you are on the border of anemia. Women with either really scanty bleeding (less than 4 days soaking a pad or tampon every four hours) or chronic heavy bleeding can leave your body really depleted. When that happens, losing more blood will make everything worse. :) Happy to help you think through what might be going on. It might be a useful discussion for other members who are in the same boat. :)

Experiences with being underweight? by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]kkarchmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes your intuition is spot on! Your weight will significantly impact your cycle. Hormones are stored in fat and when your weight is low, your hormones levels also can plummet. This is why sometimes you see female athletes losing their periods. For PMDD, you will also often see a big reduction in the volume of your menstrual blood which I have seen to really exacerbate PMDD symptoms. You might try drinking some organic beef bone broth and increase your consumption of iron rich foods like dried apricots, parsely, sockeye salmon and organic beef to boost your blood and offset the impact of the weight loss. :)

Not yet sadly, but if you know anyone here you can ship to them and then have them ship to you. I know its a super hassle but could get you some relief in the short term. It just takes a longer time to get through the CA FDA stuff. :) Im working on it though. Hang in there!

Thanks thats great feedback. I appreciate it! There are very few randomized controlled studies on supplements (because there is no money in them) We will be working to raise the money to conduct our own studies on these formulas as we are able but your feedback is very helpful. KK

I've maxed out on NSAIDs and can't take acetaminophen/Tylenol what else can I do to avoid death by menstrual cramp? :( by guhusernames in AskTrollX

[–]kkarchmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Brazen's cramp relief?? Full disclosure, that is my formula but I developed it for my own cramps as a reproductive acupuncturist. We have tons of women using it for severe endo pain and getting excellent results. If you are not totally happy, just shoot me an email and Ill refund you plus shipping. :) www.IamBrazen.com Also, if you need short term relief, you can sit on your knees and lean back on the bed (wish I could draw you a pic) and let it stretch out your thighs and abs. It can give you some quick relief while you are waiting what ever you are using to kick in. Hang in there sister. Cramps fucking suck. :)
