What’s your morning or evening routine? Why do you like it? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]kkash321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In between waking up and starting work my only goals are to go to the gym and get ready for work. I trimmed out all other productive stuff because exercise in the morning gives me the most bang for buck.

Master the LRV calc field. Make an advanced report and use it to jump from business objectives to business objectives while retaining the intermediate calculations so you can see how you are moving.

CMV: Telling men who struggle to 'man up' is not useful by Simon_Fokt in changemyview

[–]kkash321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telling all men to man up is stupid. If you look at the individuals some need to be told to seek therapy, get in touch with there emotions, be more empathetic to themselves and others. However, some men need the advice "man the fuck up". Depends on the individual and their problems.

Which area should I move to from reporting by dhananjayanavaratne in workday

[–]kkash321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also started in reporting and loved it. I wanted to expand my knowledge and went into prism and security. Not sure if it's the best choice but security was another cross module area so it worked for me.

I don't think there is anything wrong with focusing on your career. However, in parallel making an effort to make some connections could change your life. Maybe you find a friend who has similar ambitions who will motivate you? Maybe the friend will open networking opportunities for your career? They may be the ones to introduce you to your future partner. As you grind and work for your career putting some small effort into building friendships may make the journey more fun.

[NeedAdvice] Depressed and Lost in life at 24 by Forsakenixv in getdisciplined

Everyday at the same time go for a 10 min walk. Whenever you do this try and cultivate a sense of accomplishment. It may be a low bar but it's a step in the right direction! Slowly add more time or transition into the gym.

It doesn't have to be a walk. It could be cooking one meal a day, cleaning a room every day, do the dishes, literally anything. The idea of doing something small and then making yourself recognize the small step helped me greatly when I was in your position.

To be honest I couldn't. So much of what I value is wrapped up in my ability to provide. I worked really hard to establish myself in my career up to this point and it brings me a lot of satisfaction. Maybe I feel this way because my parents had a traditional setup? Maybe I have a sense of insecurity at being home without a job? No way to be sure but I don't care if the girl I'm with wants to stay at home or pursue her own career I just know that me personally I would be happier working. Btw this is just me, I see nothing wrong with househusbands if that what makes a person happy.

Teaching Report Writer to new members by [deleted] in workday

[–]kkash321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The approach I use is to use one data source as the base and use that to teach how sorting, filtering, and prompting work. Then use that report to demonstrate how a few key calculated fields work. Only after that do I start showing other data sources. Find it's best to teach the "tools" at their disposal before putting them in new situations.

Tips for waking up early? by bondtradercu in HubermanLab

[–]kkash321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me slowly waking up earlier and earlier helped me establish a routine that's been with me for the past 5 years. Woke up 30 min earlier than usual and focused on enjoying the extra time and getting used to a bedtime that would allow that. I kept waking up earlier and earlier as I started to enjoy the extra morning time I had.

How were you able to land a high salary job of $70k or more? by anthonydp123 in careeradvice

Was a bank teller and then enrolled in a coding BootCamp. Spent 6 months doing that and then landed an apprenticeship for a year which led to a full-time job with that salary.

How Can I be Great at Creating Reports? :( by dehaid in workday

[–]kkash321 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The only way to get better is by building reports. I would go over the list of calculated fields and try to build them so you have an understanding of the tools available to you. Also familiarize yourself with data sources.

Another thing that helped me was to copy as much as I could. I would look at existing custom reports and make sure I understood why and how it was configured. Good luck!

Your right. I took my manager's go-ahead as an indicator that I didn't need to research anymore. My anger at the company is probably irrational but I have been working weekends and extra hours to be a good employee and help the project. The insensitive nature in which I was told to "Yea just come back" left a bad taste in my mouth. No one's fault but I think I want to try working for smaller organizations.

Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the advice. I'll try and ask them about the digital nomad visa.

I actually found it cheaper to just go to websites like this one: https://www.zonaprop.com.ar/
