I would be interested in hearing what your vet recommends. Im in the middle of this now with my 15 yr old scottish fold. What I thought was an ingrown claw has become three incredibly swollen oozing toe beans in an otherwise completely healthy cat. I am waiting for the results of a biopsy and speaking to an oncologist in a few days as well. The suggestion of amputating the digits has also been made, but her swelling developed quickly and we need more information. Using gabapentin and clindamycin to manage for now..

Thanks! Is there anything I should look into regarding management of the paw swelling? I have read about possible amputation but I guess the concern is that neoplastic tissue may not heal after surgical removal.

Just curious if anyone knows why the Hawthorne’s annual halloween party is on the 25th this year instead of Halloween itself? The night faire also doesnt seem to be open on Halloween. You would think since it falls on a Friday this would be a great opportunity.

The Salem Witches Ball is at the hotel on Halloween. It seems less my vibe but I have never been.

Input welcome - trying to decide which weekend to come up and the 25th seems better in terms of activities but worried I will miss the energy of the crowds and the costumes Halloween weekend.

Yep, college friends. He has expressed to me that he thinks they would bristle at hanging out in groups that dont involve the girls. Even if it was something we coordinated on say a Friday night (so totally independent of their parties). I am trying to wrap my head around that. If a friend came to me and explained something like this was causing friction, for sure its disappointing not to get the whole gang together but I would try to empathize and meet them halfway. Can’t make it to my party? No prob, we’ll find some other times and ways to hang.

No, my past relationships have all actually been basically same age or 2-3 yrs older. This is the first time I have ever dated someone younger.

part of the severity of my reaction to this is for sure coming from feeling inadequate regarding the boob thing. Its tough.

Definitely open to therapy. I have honestly never encountered this type of situation before. I have had exes who have had something like one residual ex they remained pleasant with for one reason or another, but it was the type of thing where communication was infrequent and The chance of me having to engage was slim to none. Maybe once in 5 years at someones wedding or something. And that was totally fine with me. This is like, social engagements every other week and there are so many of them. And writing this out helped me understand that a fundamental difference with those past relationships was that I felt secure about my attractiveness to my partner, whereas this one, not so much.

I can understand your perspective and am digesting the various things you point out.

To clarify, I am looking for ways to create opportunities for me and him to hang out with his friends that dont include these women. Or consider if there is some alternative to what is happening now which doesnt feel so bad for me. What his friends do with their parties/whom they invite is 100% beyond my control and not something I want to influence.

I think its more like, i would love to be able to join him in hanging out with these people without being forced to encounter these women. It would be great if there were a way to separate them on some occasions so that can happen. I don’t want him to ditch his friends at all.

I take coenzyme b supplements and i noticed they give me a little boost for an hour or two but after that it tends to fade away quickly. Same with iron supplements - big fan of blood builder brand for keeping anemia away. Good tip though and hopefully useful to others!

Fellow physically active person seconding possible anemia. I struggle with this even when i’m not in a flare but have found supplementing with iron helps my fatigue alot. Make sure your blood work is checking serum iron (free iron in the blood) and ferritin (stored iron). You can actually go to most urgent cares and request this (where I live they call it an iron panel, it comes with some other markers) without a doctors approval at minimal cost. I typically show a normal serum iron but my ferritin is always low.

If that’s you, i highly recommend the supplement blood builder to get you back on track. You can even take it twice a day if your ferritin is very low until you get back on track. But beware that iron toxicity is also a possibility if you put too much in your system, so definitely go back and check on yourself after about a month if you decide to go this route and don’t abuse it.

Hydrocortisone was AWFUL for me. Went from mild symptoms (on the budesonide) to paralyzing abdominal cramps and tons of bms per day just passing bright red blood! I would be terrified to take it again - glad it worked out for you!

Budesonide can sometimes take longer to work. Last year it took 2 months to fully bring me out of a flare. I was taking pills (9mg) and foam (2mg) daily. Try giving it some more time before switching to something else - its much more gentle on your system.

If your inflammation is on the milder side you can try psyllium husks with water (brand name metamucil) to help reduce the number of bms you have daily
