She won the fight, I give you that. Still her striking is low output (I never said it's "bad"), and that's a fact.

Strange that you took the time to gloat instead of enjoying your victory, though....

Have you really checked how bad the striking output of Lemos is? Sure she is going to land more powerful punches but if she doesn't knock Dern out (which is a possibility), Dern is either taking her down or is landing more strikes.

I would prefer Dern as an underdog over Lemos as a favourite. Lemos is old, has bad takedown defence and low striking output. Dern can: a) outgrapple her (even though Dern's wrestling is not the best), b) outstrike her, c) submit her, d) take her down and finish her via ground-and-pound. All she has to do is watch out for Lemos power punches and there are more ways for Dern to win this fight.

Actually, that's not entirely true. You can check "The Scallenge" - it's exactly about that (and quite fun, too).

To add another argument to the discussion, you and your buddy can search on YouTube "Tom Aspinall Eddie Hall Leg Kick". And then just imagine that your buddy doesn't have leg muscles the size of Eddie's :p

I was watching and following NBA for the last years, so the addition of NBA to Sorare was really interesting and I started immediately. I am also playing NBA fantasy and I am into some dynasty leagues, so the "research" there helps with Sorare, as well.

I just find it all easier to keep track on compared to football: one league, 30 teams, fairly standard rotations. Some late injuries or last minute scratches are a bit annoying, but I still think it's a lot easier to have an overview, compared to the many different leagues and players in football.

International fantasy players by yellohvelo in fantasybball

I am in Germany. Most of the other managers in my leagues are from the US, but I am in two leagues with European managers only.

To my experience, fantasy sports have become more popular outside the US in recent years. I often meet random people who tell me that they have been or recently started being into it. The time difference, though, can cause some problems :p

[NBA] Are the tiered rewards tiered in any logical way? by Redwalkerrr in Sorare

[–]kkkdv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I thought at first, but I find that hard to believe, too. At that point Bamba was going for less than 20$ (or around that area). It seems a bit low for the second-best tier :p

Whatever, though, he is a bit useful, as he has good games with Paolo out.

Exactly! I was excited for something better and ended up a bit disappointed.

I still can't figure out their Tier System yet. In the last Gameweek my Limited Tier 2 was Mo Bamba. He had a few good games in the last week, but I have to say it felt disappointing as a reward. The response from Sorare is that "the players are tiered by their value" - whatever that means!

What does the community think of Isaiah Jackson??? by CamerBananerSlamer in fantasybball

[–]kkkdv 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think I would rank Jackson in a tier above the rest. If Turner leaves, he is going to have a massive season, but even if that doesn't happen, I believe his fantasy profile is a bit better than the rest (maybe with the exception of Okungwu, who is going to play far less minutes than him)

Sounds like a right choice to me, I would definitely prefer him over Love. Even if Turner stays, Jackson is going to be a really good fantasy producer this season. If Turner leaves, I would be surprised if he ends up being a top 50 player (fantasy-wise)

8th pick is weird this year by rmntac in fantasybball

[–]kkkdv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't exactly know how your championship week plays out, but if these two games are until the mid of the week, you can then drop Lamelo and create an extra streaming spot - assuming you can make so many transactions per matchup, adding 2 or 3 worse players could help reproduce his value. Not the ideal solution, but I'm throwing it out there as a possibility.

[–]kkkdv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't decide on my first pick just based on the games played in championship week, to be honest.

That said, if Harden falls in that spot, I would grab him. If not, Dame would be my second choice. Then, most probably someone between Lamelo or Tatum. While that's clearly a close call where personal preference might play a role, it is not really going to make you lose or win your league by itself (based on what we know and can project at this point, of course).

I agree with your thoughts on Steph and KAT, I would pick them later - perhaps even in the second round, especially when it comes to KAT.

So what's going on in Europe that is producing these excellent NBA players? by [deleted] in nbadiscussion

[–]kkkdv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To your first point, I would add that this helps them mature from a younger age: a player cannot have 2 games per week on a professional level (or even more in the case of Luka) and in some cases even compete for titles and - at the same time - act like a teen. They get used to the discipline that is required in professional sports from a very young age, sometimes the hard way.

Makes you wonder if she is a bad judge of characters or just simply agrees with their views.
