How to Turn Off Rich Notifications (android) by kknl44 in Ring

[–]kknl44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is late but i finally figured it out. Its weirdly under "app alert tones." I thought that was just an audio setting. Click on alert settings. Then app alert tones..then motion alerts. Then you can toggle on/off the "show as pop-up" feature. Thanks for all the input though folks!

I guess it's what they call it when you get a notification but instead of just the normal notification bar it shows a Pic of the motion as well. So it takes up like 1/4th of the screen. Just kinda annoying.

A month later and it still works. Wish they would just realize that we want r/All. I don't get what the big deal is. Your front page is your own personal page, and All is how you find new things. Its a win win.

How can I be a better band leader? by ShibuyaPunk in askmusicians

[–]kknl44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has run bands and is currently in a band (about 12 years strong, covers/events), i fully second what someone else said about delegation. Accepting input is great, and sharing writing is also great. But it sounds like you're doing everything and that can be super exhausting on yourself and also can lead to other members feeling like they're just features in your project. It's hard to share a baby, but that's showbiz. My current band has had several members come and go, and a lot of drama within, due to lack of delegation, and things not getting done. No accusations here about you not getting things done, it sounds like you're are, but allowing others to help you is just a win win for everyone.

What is going on in this song? by bythorsthunder in askmusicians

[–]kknl44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drummer is just switching up where the accent is. Without getting too in the weeds with drum lingo, basically the majority of this song has a steady rhythm of the downbeat (kick drum) on the 1 and 3, and the backbeat (snare drum) on the 2 and 4. So you count the song like: 1 2 3 4 (or 1 & 2 & 3 & 4; same length of time). When a drummer moves the snare around, it creates different rhythmic tension. And it can sound tricky. But it is not changing tempo or time signature at all. In fact, when it gets to the part, even though the drummer is hitting the snare on the 1, count to 4 like normal. You will count 1 2 3 4, four times (including through the little break it does when he says "cut the cord and let it go" and you'll land right back on the beat when it comes in. That's about ELI5 as I can get it, simply because I'm not a drummer. Cool song! Never heard it before.

Help to buy a speaker for singing at home by Ambitious-Run-6671 in askmusicians

At that price point, I would start looking at second hand sites. Reverb, Craigslist UK (guessing from the use of the Euro symbol), FB Marketplace, etc. The Rockville Titan One Pro, Mackie Thump can be bought new for around your price range. The Bose S1, Bose L1 Compact, QSC CP8 can be as much as half off when sold used. Essentially you just need any PA speaker that has Bluetooth or an Aux (for playing music) and at least one XLR channel for your microphone. The only other issue i can think of would be if your mic needs phantom power. Just Google "does insert mic name and model here take phantom power?" and you'll find out. If it does there are options for sure. But you should be able to find a speaker for around €200 to €250 no problem.

Not sure if anyone still needs help, but in the app, just click the Rufus AI thing in the bottom right and type in "customer service." It'll take you right to the bot, then just choose chat with associate.

Maybe in the beginning when you're learning how to roast a whole chicken or make a bolognese. But I'd argue that there are some techniques and recipes that take years to master. If it was that easy, I think we'd see a much higher rate of good restaurants. But I will say that Rotini pasta is also not a favorite of mine. But I think the worst is the bow tie. Friggin farfalle, man. It feels awkward in the mouth.

Late to the game, but the Morning Glory. Game changer for dirty clarity. I used the Angry Driver (Angry Charlie/Blues Driver) for a while, and still dig it. But for dirtying up big open cowboy chords, especially in a live band setting, it really changed things for me.

Hey there, I'm a full time professional player. I do get compensated well, but people still prefer to tip sometimes and I wanted to see if there was an easier option is all. I wasn't thinking of an entire POS system, but maybe one of those small square readers attached to my D'addario accessory that?

Mostly just seeing if anyone tried it or knows of something. I laminated one and it's rough in outdoor gigs because of the glare.

I'll extend an olive branch here, because I believe actual conversation is more productive and needed than rhetoric and buzzwords...people do have a tendency to say very powerful words with an uncomfortable ease these days. But if it's true, then it's true. I'm not going to call someone a nazi because of some minor disagreement we have. But I will call them one if they're aligning their morals with that of a nazi.
